GRASS GREW SOME MORE

Well, thankfully the thunder and lightning and wild storms never came yesterday, all we had was a bit of dark drizzle so I let Aunty Del and her leggy calf out into a sopping afternoon for a stroll.

It was a warm damp day – a grass growing day. Maybe the last one. The last warm day. The last warm grass growing day.

This was a lovely image (below) of mother and daughter that did not quite transfer into a picture. But I will make a card of it anyway.

MIlking times are now switched to mid-afternoon. Late afternoon has a better chance of being the warmest part of the day. Freezing weather makes the pump struggle. In fact, the pulsator won’t even pulse if it is too cold. I need to set up the milking lights again.  Both for light and for warming the pulsator.

I might make a card out of these two dingbats too.  Though it will be a very brown card their wide eyes make me smile.

I hope you have a lovely day.

Buy or Browse. Here is the 2018 Calendar. I have left it customizable so if you want to add important dates to the calendar I believe you can. Today I will make a smaller cheaper one as well and I will give you that link tomorrow. I intend to make one in every size so we can all have one that fits our budgets, especially if (like me) you are buying more than one.

Amazon – I am adding Christmas Stuff in the Amazon Things page and am focussing on small women’s items this week.

Enjoy

    • Yes they do!!! And they are enjoying every moment of the peep show!!! 🙂

  1. That last photo cracks me up! They look like a pair of horrified elderly ladies who’ve seen something scandalous and can’t wait to tell the whole village!

  2. The dingbats are hysterical. And the mommy and baby are beautiful. I love the protective curve of her body around the baby with the hip bones in the foreground, as if to say, No Trespassing, while the baby looks a wee bit curious about what is out there on the other side of that maternal barrier.

  3. Loved the two half sisters first greeting, with watchful mothers close by 🙂 Laura

  4. If those two cows had on fancy ladies hats – like ladies Sunday church hats – I would buy a HUGE print for my kitchen!!!! They look like church ladies who have had a shock!

So happy the calendars are ready – I just love your annual calendar. It’s a little smile each 1st of the month!

  5. I wonder who made that path in the grass. Doesn’t look like a cow path, not wide enough. The pictures are wonderful. Auntie Del has a lovely calf all snuggled up with her. The dingbats….perfect description….alarm, surprise, aghast at what the chickens are talking about? Perfect.

  6. That last image is a perfect card idea… for many occasions! I love that first photo too… you know much of my life in the wild is about following the animal trails. It’s the best highway ever!

  7. I am laughing out loud at those two ding bats! and the newest calf is adorable. Lovely sweet photo of mother and daughter!

  8. Great photos and glad the storm missed you. I keep an eye on them hoping you all stay safe. LOVE the photos! Well, I love all your photos. Hope you have a wonderfilled day.

  9. I’m delighting in that cow trail….how, oh so carefully, they have walked a path around that clump of grass time and again! Truly ‘engrained’ behavior (pun intended). Thanks! Fantastic photos and LOVE the ‘dingbats’!

  10. Carlos must have figured out how to use a stepladder after two years with Aunty Del! His calves are beautiful, so tiny and mostly dark like him.

  11. :Love the dingbats. I’m sure what they were looking at wasn’t really all that scandalous, but they sure got the expressions right for it. Made my day.
