Off to Chicago for the day
After a day and a night of rain. Seven inches of rain all told. pouring. Tropical warm rain.. after 24 hours of it, I think the weather is easing. At midnight I got up and rearranged the cows so the grown ups and the white calf could come inside too. Now it is early morning.

The Pond attracts All Kinds
My New Zealand visitors got up super early so we did first chores before retiring to the porch by the pond to wait for the rain. It is that deep quiet that comes when the clouds are heavy and still and pale and thinking. Soon I will make second breakfast. What shall we have? The

Did you see that snake?

The Long Awaited Day!!
The ducklings have found the pond. They went in three times yesterday and are back this morning – I can hear them splashing about as I write. They are sticking close to the sides. Not yet ready for deep water! And it is deep, the pond, the middle is almost 10 foot deep. The fish
