They love to run with a piggie gallop.
Plus they really are kind of beautiful in a Miss Piggie kind of way.
I think you love my piggies and sheep as well.
I followed Sheila and Charlotte around for a bit yesterday trying to get a good shot of their eyes because I have decided that the reason they are so love-able is that they will look you in the eye, like a dog. Eye contact has a huge impact on the emotions. I could not get that exact shot. Sheila has to keep throwing her ears up out of her face so she can see me and Charlotte was not going to stand still for mood shots.
Funny pigs.
Good morning. Yesterday the Farmy Lounge of Comments was overflowing with a fantastic selection of literary works for me to read. Thank you so Much for all your suggestions. By last night here were fifty-two suggestions from all you stunning commenters and even a few more on the Facebook page. That should keep me going!
This is a stunning resource. So today I am going to quickly copy them all into the post for tomorrow (as a list – so you can print it). Then you can all share in my bounty.
This is a startling collection of books, authors and mini reviews. I am gobsmacked and very proud to call you my friends. Last night as I was thinking about this rich list of treasure books I felt like you had all given me a present, an early birthday present. So if you have any more suggestions for books to read on my holiday, pop them in today and I will add them to tomorrow’s post for all to read. It will just be the titles and authors.
This morning the Surrogate Milkers are going to do their first morning milking with chores. To date they have been coming in the evenings. So John will do his part and they will do theirs and we will meet afterwards and do any tweaking to the system that needs doing. Then they will all do it again tomorrow and I will take over for the weekend, so everyone will be fresh when I leave on Monday morning. I think we can all relax in the knowledge that the Farmy is in good hands.
Another really terrifying and exciting development is that the builders will be congregating here on Friday. They are thinking of breaking ground to begin the Coupe, The Matriarch’s granny flat, next week. They do need to pour the concrete while the weather is warm, so they can take advantage of any good weather during the winter to build. But I am sad that you and I will not be here to watch. And worry.
However, technology being what it is, we might still get a few pictures. Actually I might give the Kiwi Builder the little camera so he can keep us up to date!
Have a lovely, lovely day.

I just love your piggies. And seeing them running around like that so full of life makes me feel so sad for all their relatives being so cruelly kept in those intensive piggeries. Looking forward to seeing your list of books – I know you’re up for a long flight but I’m not sure it’s long enough to get through 50 books! xx
93 at the last count! I have a delicious amount of reading ahead of me! c
Celi, your little piggies are so cute, and I am glad their little piggy feet get to touch the grass every day!
Hey, I missed yesterday’s request, and must share today that I just loved Pillars of the Earth and World Without End, by Ken Follett. Both are sweeping historical novels and I found them both a fun read. ~Lynda
Aha, awesome .. onto the list they go!
I love pigs.
I bet they would love you too, i am sure they could develop a fondness for a good brew!! c
Whoever recommended Remarkable Creatures…I agree Lady dinosaur hunters, and all based in truth! ! Must see yesterday’s post…been busy around here, but happy to see the piggies!
Busy is good!!! and so is a list of reading material! c
I forget who said it but dogs look up to us, cats look down on us but pigs treat us as equals.
Can’t wait for you to print the ‘advisements list’: an inveterate reader, I recognised only about a 1/3 as ‘read’! What a wonderful adjunct to being on the farmy!! And you know we all will home in and send the right vibes to the piggies and the sheep to behave . . .
Celi I absolutely love your piggies too! And your sheep :).
You love your piggies because they’re so lovable, Celi!
One of the first things I noticed about Lucy is that she’ll look you right in the eyes. In fact, we play a little game. When I notice her watching me near the bars of her cage, I’ll slowly move so that a bar will block her eye. (She’s no raptor and can only view me with one eye at a time.) Ever so slowly, she’ll move so that she can see me again. We’ll go back and forth until I tire of the game; she never does. We have other games, too.
I need to get out a bit more.
I see a glow in the hydrangeas in your daily shot. The piggies and the sheep are indeed lovable; you have shown us all that. How exciting about the building! You need a webcam on site to spy on all that takes place.
Those sweet pigs!
You’re right, I do love your piggies and sheep. I can’t wait to see the granny flat! 🙂
I adore sheep. And your piggie pictures are marvelous!
I do love the piggies and the sheep, and Ton Ton, of course! And all the other characters in your farmy play. 🙂
Ok – this is a farm check in for me. Are these lovely creatures going to remain pets or well… grace you in “other” ways. I’m far from a vegetarian but as I mentioned when I first came your way- I’m thinking about how to be a loving and bonding but meat eating farmer. thx x wendy
