The Old Codger chose this years chickens. They are Leghorns. They will grow to be leggy white chooks who lay good white eggs. He thinks they are an excellent old breed for this area.
He had leghorns years and years ago. These are in a big tote in the basement with their warm light and water and food. There are twelve. Our new Easter Chicks.
So here you are Dale. They are all lovely strong wee birds.
Happy Easter.
Spring has come. We sowed the last of the little fields yesterday, the Salad Bar Field (which has perennial garlic, mint, lemon balm, parsley, chicory and chives coming up as well as the clovers and grasses) and the Corridor Paddock. Then last night we had a gentle rain. Perfect.
Good morning. Have a lovely, lovely day.

PS. My essay this weekend over at The Parents Space is about a play therapy for a wee boy I was working with in England who had a stutter. 15 minutes of play a day. So simple and so magical. Please don’t feel compelled to go over, though of course I love you to read my writing, life is full of choices and this is just another one. This is where the writing is and it is a good discipline for me to write two pieces a week especially as it is forcing me to move this book (Potatoes are your Best Friend) out into the light. All smiles.

Wonderful story over there and a reminder of how differently some people choose (or learn) to live. Sad really but fortunate that you crossed their path.
Darling chicks.
