Pigs will be Pigs

Sheila loves her bath.  I do apologise for the angle but she made me laugh out loud! Raising a pig is loaded with fun.

Charlotte loves water too.

They wriggle and mud-about then stand and shake like dogs, their ears clapping against their heads, causing the real dogs and I to run for our lives from the spray of mud, shouting:  No shaking!  No shaking! You promised!

Breeding pigs is tons of fun too. Charlotte just lay in her mud puddle looking fat, fecund and drunk from the hose.

The dogs ran off to watch Karate Kid Chicken.  You can see why the Blue Heeler Puppy is called Blue the Mouth. He is getting so heavy John said we should call him Blue the Brick.

Yes, the Leghorn Peghorns are allowed out to play for a few hours each afternoon.  Having Howdy Time! Like at the zoo.

The Drywall Man  tilts on stilts in the Coupe, working yesterday at a thunderous pace. Today is a drying day for the plaster then he will return tomorrow.  He went home last night with fresh eggs and  the freshest asparagus for his family.

Good morning. Yesterday the dogs and I planted the Old Codgers tomatoes and pruned and trained his grapes. He planted the grapes  twenty years ago he said and they were in a tangle.  We dragged a chair around the garden for him to sit on as we worked and between us we started getting his yard in order for the summer.

I am off to pick up Author this morning and talk to the vet. I will let you know how she is. She had a wee op, no more kittens, but is doing well. LouLou tagged along so the cats are now all up to date.

You all have a lovely day.  We have sunshine!

your friend, celi.

  1. Good morning Celi the mouth is a little heavy but will probably grow into it `. the pigs look like they are having an enjoyable time. good to see the drywall getting done. have a blessed day mike

  2. Word of the day award goes to you and the farmy, or maybe the pigs – “fecund”, now I need to work on a sentence I can use it in ….
And loving that view from inside the coupe, that big old view across the fields – so much space for the eyes to roam in, so unlike my urban setting, well apart from the sea that is!

  3. Pigs are probably the only species that get dirtier as they bath 🙂 Gentle cuddles for the kitties on their return home, and best regards to the Old Codger. Laura

  4. Thank you for my daily breath of fresh farmy air — just doesn’t seem right starting the day without a visit to the farmy! Blue looks a bit like he could be a brick — good solid dog that he is!

  5. those pigs look as happy as, well, pigs in mud! i can not wait until the new piglet/piglets arrive! how many babies do pigs have at one time?

  6. Everyone looks and sounds so happy – wey hey the mudlarks. I agree that Blue is growing into a whopper, but he seems very amenable to your training.
Our sun’s in hiding and it’s gone back to being very chilly – a three layer day. You enjoy your sunshine today/ Vx

  7. I always love the photos of Blue and Ton. You know, when the malamutes, Chinook and Hunter, were puppies, I knew I had about five month when I could pick them up and then never again for their lives and so I’m afraid I carried them everywhere and couldn’t stop picking them up and cuddling them…and then they grew to be their adult magnificent 120+lbs and that was that. I hope you cuddle the living daylights out of that baby. 🙂

  8. You and Old Codger working on the tangle. He probably really enjoyed that. (My dad as he got older had chairs in various places around large garden plot and acreage around the house. Worked for him. He was not going to stop gardening or going outside)
Pigs are so expressive – look at that joy – they are funny
Blue is getting big! Going to be a solid dog – one you can pet and not worry about knocking him over.
