The first eye feather of the the season. We have been watching his tail feathers grow and this morning there it was, the first eye feather, it is destined to be the longest of his tail feathers and when he lifts his tail in the spring and fans it out it will be the tallest. And we saw it first. How cool is that.
You can almost see these feathers growing can’t you.
I can almost see these piglets growing too.
The hay field has been raked.
Queenie is actually chewing here, (with her mouth closed like a well brought up cow) though she looks like she has such a smug look on her face!
Boo is not terribly sure that the Marmalade Cat is old enough to be outside yet. He keeps the kitten close to the door.
I hope you all have a lovely day.
your friend on the farm,

nice shot of the barn, quintessential.
and i like the ‘treehouse’
All the animals seem to be keeping an eye on things. The barn’s colors and textures are beautiful – soul there.
Have a lovely day!
Queenie looks very sweet 😉
I had no idea that peacocks shed all of their tail feathers each year so it’s fascinating to see how growing them back progresses and to learn that the first eye feather will be the longest…totally makes sense, tho. Love that sky! Have a great day, Celi.
I love every one of these, and have pinched the curious kitten for a haiga – watch this space.
Love, ViV xox
Here’s the stolen photo with haiga, and another one of Boo with Marmalade
Morning Celi 🙂
Everytime I see a pic of Queenie, I think of that old movie “The Rare Breed” about a Hereford named Vindicator……she looks so much like the cow in that movie. Can’t get over how Marmalade kitty has grown. I’m glad to see Boo continues to watch after him. Beautiful sunset, or maybe it’s sunrise, pics!! Have a wonderful day! I hear rain may be coming this weekend. 😦
I must find that movie!! thank you nancy.. c
Peacocks are magical !!
How beautiful life is on the farmy! I love how Boo has taken to Marmalade; animals definitely show us true love in the most natural sense.
There is nothing as beautiful or elegant as a peacock in full feather…the white ones look like brides getting prepared for their wedding, and the colours of Kupa are like magical jewels…but they are worth more in beauty
such beautiful colours shared today. Peacocks are just so stunning when they spread ’em out! As a collector of feathers, of all kinds for many years, I know that one day I will find a peacock eye to add and cherish. Blessings to you this busy day.
We saw a few peacocks on our trip without the tail feathers. Must be quite something to see them come back in.
Oh my! I LOVE that photo of Queenie! She IS well-mannered with her mouth closed while chewing, but to me she seems to giving you the “stink eye” for photographing her whilst eating her lunch! I am always amused by your farm photos. I did not know about the “eye” feather! I am always learning something new from my blogger friends! Nice post, Celi.
I never gave it a thought that peacocks moult and grow new feathers. Being birds, of course they do…but never even wondered about it. How very interesting about the eye feather. Like a slowly unfolding story or slow motion movie. Boo is taking his nanny job so seriously! Good job. They will be buds for life. Love the piggies and Queenie. Is that a tree house?
Yes that is the tree house, very old now, just for looking AT, no longer climbing into.. c
have always been fascinated with peacocks. good job, kupa!!
queenie is so well-mannered….
and that little marmalade, so wonderfully sweet and tiny!
life on the farm, so good!
Beautiful, Celi and Kupa and Marmalade and Boo
