Jiggedy Jig. Home to the farm. I do have a number of homes. But only one farm.

The little organic and sustainably managed farm has toddled along perfectly sleepily in my absence but I am back now and we are going to rev up a couple of gears.

And everyone is fat and healthy (Boo is just a bit too fat so he is going to have to increase his steps). Ton Ton is sleeping under the porch as usual and more than content. Dear old dogs. I will take photos of the later on.

My desk is set back up ( always the first thing I do) and I found my cross body work bag (with all my stuff still in it) – I am literally having trouble staying inside so here are some pics I collected for you this morning.

John is setting up the big chipper – there is going to be a lot of pruning going on! I can barely see out my windows.

It is cool and perfect weather for gardening. So expect lots more pics over the coming days.

Time to get back to work. First I am going to shift the cows then start cleaning up the first two fields. (I worked on the pond this morning – the fish have multiplied!).
Talk soon.

Welcome home. The pigs look very content. I’m sure all the animals were happy to see you. xo
I think so – the cows are happy in their new field anyway!
Welcome home. The farm looks gorgeous. Enjoy your day.
Overgrown and so wild looking – I love it!! Morning Robin!
Home again, home again joggety jog💖
Yes!! That one! And such a busy day!!
Yay! Welcome home. I’ve got to get a desk set up like that, I slump over my laptop way too much.
This rises up with a really super spring system. It means that I can work with a number of different postures. PLUS standing – which makes me work so fast!!
Such lovely light here Celi! ❤️
A fairy tale house hidden in the Greenwood.
Oh yes! My jungles are growing – how I love the trees. It is nice in the summer for the greenery to filter the sun but I will cut it all back before the winter – lots of time yet!
I have so missed these views…so good to see them again!
Right? I felt a great heave of relief when i awoke this morning – back to the open skies and the quiet.
Welcome home, Cecilia! Can’t wait for all the photos and run-down on how all the good creatures are.
Yes!! I will go through them one by one I think – but you know how I am – there is so much going on every day that it is hard to focus on one creature. WaiWai is looking very happy – I am going to completely clean out his bed this week (I hope) which is going to make him even grumpier!
¡Bienvenidos de nuevo a la granja!
Those pigs look happy, especially Tima. How big are the catfish now?
Oh the catfish – I have not seen them yet – John said he had no bodies so I am assuming they are down there in the depths somewhere – the greed pond weed seems to be keeping the water quite clean in a way – because the pond is remarkably healthy – could that be a thing?
I think they are bottom feeders.
Yes/ I bet they are down there somewhere.
They will come up for food and to spawn. You need a submarine drone 🤣
Oh Man!! A submarine drone would be so cool! There is a school of about twenty tiny black fish that have appeared since I left – God knows what they are! But they must have hatched in there.
Wouldn’t it – with lights and a camera! I suppose they could be catfish – if not the catfish will be after them!
Welcome home! Looking forward to updates from the farmy 🙂
P.S. I zoomed in to see what books you’re using as a laptop stand, as I was curious. I do that, too. Hardback cookbooks are my go-to.
Hah!! You made me check to see what was there! A curious selection! Morning Grace!
Aw, the “welcome home” flowers are lovely!
Yay
Yes!
Welcome! (I did enjoy your adventures vicariously!)
That is wonderful Gretchen. I also enjoyed myself immensely!
Many homes and only one Farmy. Sums it up perfectly.
I am one day away from home still, and I will be glad to be back. Home’s best, for me. I’m sitting outside on a beautiful winter’s early evening in North Queensland. It’s perfect shirtsleeves weather, I have a drink on one side and my phone hotspot on the other, my feet up and the birds singing their end of day song. Doggo is snoozing on his floof, waiting for dinner. The husband is catching up with online friends. Just 380km/236 miles to go. I’m perfectly at peace except for the knowledge that I have to unpack and clean the caravan tomorrow!
Welcome home, Miss C.
I love the handwritten note and flowers ♡
Welcome home, but be sure to come back to see us again soon.
Welcome back!!
You mentioned “a lot of pruning” and the wood chipper… Wondering if you’d ever considered using this method of building gardens to hold moisture (and all the other benefits: )?
Think you already know Valerie right, Celi? Here’s one of her first posts on Hugelkultur: https://livingmydreamlifeonthefarm.com/2012/04/24/hugelculture-making-hill-beds-for-garden-use/
