Monday Morning in Grey

Very short post this morning. And lots to see over at the newsletter! Go HERE to read TKG Sunday Newsletter with a WalkAbout and all the weekends photos.

I am writing straight from the heart this weekend. And the WalkAbout has trees!

Can you see Tima (screen right) and Wai (screen left) out picking in the field.

They are both getting a lot of exercise! Though they need to because they are foraging for corn.

The internet has been a mess here this morning.

One of the things I look forward to when I travel is a good fast reliable internet connection.

So I am going to post quickly while I am on data.

The sky is heavy and overcast and gloomy.

More coming tomorrow.

R will be here soon and we will start the work of the day.

Take care!

Share the newsletter with your friends! That would be awesome!

Love love

  1. We have had so much rain recently and my internet is always hit and miss when it rains hard so I feel your pain. I saved the newsletter to read this morning when I make coffee later. I like starting my new week with your words and thoughts.

  2. I loved all the info about your tree planting. I knew you’d planted a lot but had no idea there were that many! I thought you were just exaggerating calling them a forest ;o).

It’s too bad that trees take so long to become “trees” as most people tend to think of them, mature you know. You buy a newly built house with a bare lot, decide to plant a tree and do you decide on an oak? “Oh, maybe not, let’s just put in a little dogwood, or a crabapple, we may not be living here long enough to see a big shade tree come into its own. We an enjoy a small blooming tree so much sooner.” And so it all too often goes. No one’s looking ahead and planning on staying in place for the next 20 or 30 years. I think it affects a lot of other things as well as tree planting. A sense of continuity into the future contributes to being concerned and involved in what happens today in terms of community building and planning.
