Can’t get too hot for me!

Remember my old rule of keeping whatever title comes first into my head. Well, I just arrived in California from wintry Melbourne, Australia and it cannot get too hot for me. Though the winters are mild in Melbourne there is nothing quite as delicious, for a cold tired body, as the full bodied heat of a California summer. Yes?

So. I am just dropping in to share what I have been writing over at Substack. I can no longer add images to this blog (I mean, I do have a choice but it involves more money and I have been paying to blog here for fifteen odd years) so I chose to move to SubStack.

HERE IS WHERE I AM HANGING OUT.

Still posting frequently. Still loving the conversations in my Lounge of Comments.

I am travelling again. I have been in Melbourne with my daughter and her new baby for the last 6 months and now I am in California with third son’s family. Next week I am off to Illinois to visit the farm and my American family. Then back to California. Then off to Melbourne (14 hour flight) for a few weeks, then on to the New Zealand families and gardens. Then back to Melbourne to take over as granny-nanny for a while.

So – if you want to follow along with me and see all the pictures from my travels (next week there will be a TON of images of the farm) go HERE to sign up. There is an Option to subscribe for less than the price of one cup of coffee a month but it is totally optional (though would be very much appreciated). The posts are free regardless. And you – yes you – are so very welcome.

For the record the monies from the SubStack publication go to feeding the rescue pigs (who are living very long and happy lives) and planting trees to help with our real life carbon co-pay.

HERE is what I wrote a couple of weeks ago. About trees – I really like this one.

HERE is what I wrote last week about our wonderful brains.

I try to write about sustainable living but you know me – I am pretty eclectic (just like you) with everything I do so I wrote about sustainable living and a bunch of other stuff. We can do better in all kinds of ways and in all kinds of places and I write about those things too but mostly gardens, farming and good food.

Here is the ABOUT page.

Have a look around read some of the posts and most of all feel free and safe to comment. I love the Lounge of Comments.

Be Kind.

Apply BE KIND to all areas of your life including being kind to yourself and you will shine.

I am still paying to keep this site open so if you leave a comment on this post I will answer here too.

If you are trying to live a sustainable low waste-good-for-the-planet life – remember, you are not alone. There are a lot of us doing our best out here in the world. Looking after the little corner of the earth where we camp. And I truly believe doing a little bit often makes a difference. Even if it is only avoiding plastic as often as possible, composting and shopping from your local farmer. Pop in anytime if you need reminding that you have a team – you are part of a large community of earth lovers and gardeners and generous people.

So. Pop over!!!. Subscribe, then go to the settings on your phone (or whatever) and click turn off notifications from Substack. You don’t need all that extraneous stuff – my posts will come to your email. No worries.

We made cinnamon rolls this morning and a little fellow just took a bite and said “wow these are really soft – it is like eating a mattress.” I said you must have a soft mattress on your bed and he said “I do!“ and took another big bite.

Love Celi

PS After you have subscribed to the new site come back here and unsubscribe so you don’t get reminder message like this. Our inboxes are crazy enough – right? I am all about turning energy-gobbling notifications. Off with their heads!

Love ya!
