First we have to admire Charlotte who is posing in her swimming pool. l did not tell her that she wooshed all the water out already! The hose is on its way, little Shush.
I call them the Shush Sisters because that is what I call TO them when I feed them. You will remember that every animal has their own call so that if they get out they will come back to me when called. That is the theory and it has worked so far. The little pigs are Shush Shush in a sing sing voice. The Big Pigs are Sooee. Coming when called is Lesson 1.
Daisy needs all her rest. Her due date on my calender is tomorrow. She has been doing a lot of moaning and groaning. With her massive size her spindly legs must be getting tired. She grazes slowly, walking like a tentative elephant, every foot planted carefully on the ground and tested for weight before moving her body forward!
Mrs Cardinal was on a smoko break. There are three eggs.
The milking parlour waits. And so do we.
Wish my legs really were that long, chores would be done in half the time.
Stand on a crack,
you marry a rat,
but what if he stands in your shadow.
Good morning. The moon was so bright last night that I did not even need my torch when I went to check Daisy. She completely refused to go into the home paddock by the barn for the night so Ton and I had to tromp out into the field a few times. Nothing to see though. Other than the moonlight.
I was going to show you a few shots of the new out-door playground for the big pigs. But it looks most un-palace like through a lens. We still have some work to do. Then I will get the neighbours and we will make a strategy for moving the pigs in there. That will be fun!
I see another stunning day unfolding outside. I need to get way ahead of myself today as we will be baling hay late this afternoon. A crock pot day. I put whole onions in a greased crock pot the other day and let them cook on low for a few hours and then drizzled a tiny bit of honey on top for the last hour. They were melt in your mouth divine!
You all have a lovely day too. I really hope you do.

Charlotte really knows how to strike a pose, and Daisy has struck a good one too. She looks gorgeous in that shot. I loved seeing the eggs in the nest – how exciting. My new post has gone up, starting with a quote from you about old folks.
P.S. Here’s the link to the post; http://seasonalinspiration.blogspot.co.nz/2012/06/requiem-sky.html
Pacing while waiting for word of Daisy!
don’t wear out the lino rumpy! c
Your energy amazes; your talent entertains; your compassion inspires. Love you, your blog and the farmy.
Your photographs are so nice, especially the first one made me smile and the shadow of yours fascinated me. Thank you, dear Cecilia, Love, nia
You have such camera-shy and camera-averting animals! Except for TonTon, of course.
I’ll try the onions. Wouldn’t have thought of cooking in crockpot without lots of liquid.
Love the piggy shot – so contented!
Isn’t it nice to go out with a full moon? Somehow things just seem so right with the world then. Sigh: farmy sounds at night.
