Dawn on Christmas Day. Hold the beam Scottie!

Dawn on Christmas morn 2011.

On a Star trek Christmas.

Daisy wishes to convey her Christmas greetings to you. Yesterday she posed for her Christmas appearance in front of the 1966  Chrysler New Yorker that is parked forever in her yards. It is  her favorite piece of cow art.  Coincidentally the car helps to show off her considerable size!  All height and length,  but we don’t discuss her increasing girth. The girl sure knows how to pose! It is probably best not to mention her double chins either.

Have a great christmas break and  a fabulous day whichever way you choose to have it.  Farmy is hoping for a quiet day and a wee walk for Mama.

We raise our glasses to you.  Clink!  Have fun.

GOOD MORNING!! Merry Christmas!

John: What are you doing?

Celi: I am wishing all my readers a Merry Christmas. We are having a wee champagne.

John:(Looking around at the empty room)  I thought you hated Christmas.

Celi: (Holding out her glass for a refill)  Well, its almost over isn’t it, darling. Pass me one of those crackers will you.

Love Celi

  1. Missed you at dawn, Dear. Max let me sleep in – as if that minor act of kindness will get him out of the dog house! He’ll be visiting one of his “Uncles” while I go West to have dinner with some recently transplanted cousins and, of course, Zia. First, though, I’ve got some gluten-free bread to bake. Can you imagine being gluten-free in this family?

Have a re-fill on me. Cheers!

    • better tell the ‘Uncle’ to hide the toilet paper, glad you got a sleep in.. is there any such thing as gluten free pasta? What do they eat in your family? A nice christmas touch to take some G-free bread, give my love to Zia, it is a great day for driving at least! Cheers.. c

      • Yes, they do make gluten-free pasta. I’ve promised her to come up with a gluten-free ravioli, which is proving harder than I thought. From what I’ve learned, they don’t freeze well and, unless I make them at her house, they must be frozen for transport. It’s my project for the New Year. Live Long and Prosper!

      • I can answer your question on GF Pasta… YES, and the brand is Tinkyada! Best GF pasta in the world… Can cook al dente and comes in all your favorite styles! My faves are penne and fusilli!
        Here’s a link for ChgoJohn: http://www.tinkyada.com/
(Cecilia, please DO tell me if you don’t like me to do this. 😉 )

  2. We were at our window at sunrise, the Wee One and I…Grandad took Sweet Cleo for a walk…and tiny snowflakes started to swirl…
Merry Christmas, Celi and John, and all the critters…with much love.

  3. A perfectly spectacular sunrise. My version of the perfect Christmas morning was to sleep the entire thing away, yes, right until noon. Yay-Hurray! To wake up (very gradually) to check up on the wee farmy and its denizens, not to mention those visiting on the tree from various parts of the Final Frontier, while preparing some food for JUST THE TWO OF US to eat later. So lovely. It sounds like you’re managing a very fine Celi kind of Christmas day and I’m glad for that.

As for your bigger-than-a-car bovine, she ought to be incubating an impressive young’un for you, and with that, begin producing prodigious amounts of tasty milk. All of this on top of being a supermodel of a cow to begin with; well, Daisy is truly one of a kind!

  4. I suppose that in order to love Christmas (as we know it) we would have to have kids in the house… our own or the “grand” types. The other alternative is going to the parents, or having them over for dinner and presents… at this point in our lives we have neither option. So, failing that, we have each others company and we take the time to rest and recuperate. We also take this opportunity to enjoy all the fun foods we really never allow ourselves during the rest of the year. I must say, that for me at any rate, I miss all the hoopla of being young on Christmas.
Oh that Cow! She is a beauty and that’s a fact. ~ Merry Christmas! ~ Lynda

    • There will always the that inner child who wants to just love the day and jump with joy. However I have just come from working for hours in the barn and it is such a lovely day that it was an absolute pleasure . We have gone completely the other way and have No plans for food at all.. We had dinner last night.. So it is a rest day today! c
