“Don’t be scared. They said I could bring you out here. It will be fine. I promise. “
“It’s Ok they won’t hurt you. They are herbivores. (cattie laughter) See thats Queenie.”
“What have you got out there Mary’s Cat?”
“What is it?” says Queenie Wineti.
“It’s a dog” says Marys Cat.
“Sure doesn’t look like a dog.” says Queenie.

“You smell like a dog but you growl like a girl. I think I would like to have your tail. It’s quite the tail”.
“Did you see that? That little fluff growled at me. It is not even as big as my head and it growled at me!”
“Give it time. He is a visitor. They told me to take him outside to play, so why don’t you say hullo to his face instead of his bottom. That might work.”
“Oh yeah, that’s better. Hey Daisy you wanna come see the visitor! He smells funny but he seems OK.”
“That is the Matriarch’s dog. Be nice. He’s only little.”
Hairy MacLairy thinks we should introduce the visitor to Moaning Mia. She likes to play.
“I hate cats!” says Moaning Mia, “they whine all the time. Get this cat out of here!”
“Mia listen to your Mama. That is not a cat that is a dog. It is the Matriarchs dog. He visits sometimes. Be nice. And wipe that hay off your face. You are a mess!”
“Oh, Maa Maa! Now he won’t even talk to me. His little pointy nose is all out of joint since we called him a cat!”
“Kids! …. Queenie Wineti tell Mary’s Cat to take him back, he is going to get himself into trouble out there.”
“You heard Hairy MacLairy. Better take him back to the Porch. Little Dogs should probably stay on Porches.”
“Did you Hear That?”
“What! I hear nothing.”
“Exactly. It has gone too quiet. Didn’t you tell them to go outside and play? OKAY. I’ll go. It’s my turn anyway. Can’t a cat get five minutes to sit and watch the snow melt. All I wanted was five minutes peace.”

Good morning. That just kept coming together, getting longer and longer but I hope you will forgive me. Not much light yesterday but the animals were having fun. As you know my challenge is that all the shots have to be within a day and published the next day. I thought this one might be nice for you to read aloud to the little kids in the family. So I made the dialogue child friendly. That Mary’s Cat! He is always right in the middle of everything!
It looks like we are going to be in the 40’s and wet today with some sun later for more photographs. Fantastic!
Dawn is grey. Time for me to suit up and get out to the barn. By the way Daisy’s patches are already starting to fill in, she is loving the brushing.
Good Morning!

I should let the kids read this one! No cleavage in it! LOL!! 🙂
No, This one is for the kids!! I would love your kids to read it.. c
Send this one to the publishers! I have read many a children’s title that wasn’t nearly so fine. Love the dialogue and the photographs! ~ Lynda
(Just so you know, I’ve been really busy, catching up now… sorry!)
Good that you are busy! Where do i find a publisher?!!! Would be funny to tune it up and send it away! c
Good morning to you, too! Delightful, as always! All of our snow has melted and things are warming up a bit. Yeah! I’m sure looking forward to spring arriving. Enough grey days!
I am with you on that one Miskey. There is supposed to be sun this afternoon and my seedlings are lining up at the door!! c
Great post, Celi. Love it when you let the farm’s other inhabitants take center stage where, I’m sure, they’d all say they belong. And that Mia is such a diva! Chasing the poor pupster out of her limelight! Maybe Mia saw “All About Eve” recently and she’s a bit on edge. Well, no matter. Thanks for today’s glimpse at life on the farmy.
Morning John, I swear this lot see the camera coming now!! c
I think that cows and sheep had the right idea the first time 😉
I am sure they thought so too! c
Great series of pics. Love that one of the little pooch snarling…looked like it was going to have a go at the cow. It’s nice that he looks more mellow a little later.
I hope that you will be publishing such lovely stories when our new twins are old enough to enjoy them!
Christine
Ha, great photos. Looks like the little dog did well.
I want to cuddle each one of those cats!! SO FLUFFY!!!
What delightful animals! I will share the little story with my granddaughters–oh, but wouldn’t they love your farm! Debra
You should write children’s books! Great little story. Love seeing how animals of different species interact with each other. But…it sure does look cold down there on the farm!
Thank you…that’s a wonderful read to start off my morning 🙂 Love it!
Great bit of kafuffel in the barnyard this morning. Good for the animals, as it is for humans, to be shaken out of their routines and familiar smells. Keeps us open and resilient.
Hope Ton Ton and Big Dog didn’t mind!
They slept right through it.. too busy dreaming! Morning Aimee..c
Awwwww. What fun!
Morning Betsy!! c
Ingenious !
Hey Delicia, Hullo over there! c
