Pania Pouts as New Kittens Named

Miss c: Hey, Tui and Pania, come over, we are going to name the two kittens.

Pania:  Tui, shove over, you are in the way.

Tui: Miss c.  Pania is touching me with her snotty beak. Get out,, Pahn! Aaaah!

Miss c: Pania did you just push Tui off the beam?

Pania: No. We were playing Push Me Out of the Nest.

Miss c: You mean walk the plank.

Pania: What’s walk the plank?

Miss c: Pania stop being disruptive we are naming the new mouse catchers.  It is naming day. A very important day on the farmy.

Pania. Honk.

Lets just ignore her bad manners for a minute shall we.  Everybody, on your left is Good Authority. Because this little puss spends a lot of time  telling me what I should be doing. Like; I have it on Good Authority that you should be bringing us warm milk four times a day, he says. Or I have it on Good Authority that the dogs get real meat.  Stuff like that.

And on the right is LuLu. She is the sweet one. And if she is a male, as most ginger cats are, we will call her LouLou.

Pania: Tui! Where is that hen, she always blames me.  Always falling off stuff and saying Pania Did It!

So here is Li’l Puss the Scrapper watching out for Good Authority and LuLu. Not quite friendly yet though.

Pania: Huh Good Authority. What kind of name is that?

Miss c: Well, you can call him Goodie if you like.  Is that easier?

Pania: Goodie! I’ll give you Goodie. I steal his goodies every morning. How come he gets cat food and not me anyway.

Miss c: He is a baby cat, Pania. You are a  bad tempered big Bird.

Pania: Do you want me to throw myself off here, is that what you want. A dead peahen on your conscience.   Think of the mess.  Tui, where are you?!  TUI!!!

Good morning. It was warm and windy yesterday.  I’ll take it.  Is that the last day of warmth?

I hope you are all going to have a lovely day.  It is Friday here. Shopping day. Stocking up day.

  1. I sure am glad you waited a bit before naming the Li’l Ones, Celi. Good Authority & LuLu seem perfect to me.
Your daily pic is beautiful, bathed in October light. With all of the wind we’ve had, I’m surprised there’s a leaf left on that tree, though, it won’t matter much. It will be cold enough this weekend to strip most trees bare. I’m not looking forward to this at all.
Have a great day, Celi. Stay warm!

  2. Love the naming of the animals! I ran into a little Yorkshire Terrier yesterday at the photo lab and her name was Lola. I looked at my son and said the next cat I’m getting is going to be called Lola. And of course, he just looked at me and shook his head.

Love the name “Good Authority” and “LouLou”. Hopefully your ginger will turn out to be female so she can keep the feminine side of LouLou. We had a ginger named Emily and she live for 15 years!

Have a lovely day ~ April

  3. Those kittens are SO CUTE. I want one! I love their names. And the animal conversations. I’m still pulling for a children’s book one of these days, after NaNoWriMo and New Zealand, maybe.

  4. Lovely romp with the words today!
The pix with the 2 kittens in the hay not only very cute is a wonderful contrast of textures: soft round kitties and scratchy linear hay.
(The birds get enough attention so I won’t mention their loveliness or silly games)
    Chuckling over the names.

  5. The kittens are just adorable. I didn’t know that most ginger cats were male. That’s interesting! You have your own Dr. Doolittle “thing” going on at the Farmy, Celi. How delightful. Enjoy the warm day…we are on true “red alert” in our zone. Another hot day and Santa Ana winds…it’s crazy weather that is both delightful and scary. But a good weekend planned. Thinking of you, too, my friend. Have a lovely one! 🙂

  6. You are just too funny for words, which I reckon isn’t really what a writer wants to hear …. hmmmm…..maybe I should rethink this comment. Naaaaah. 😉

  7. Good to know I am not the only one who hears these conversations. (Used to make my dad smile when I filled him in on what was being said by the all the critters — thanks for that memory). Love the names — has Pania calmed down yet? — Good luck on your shopping day!

  8. So it’s Friday with you… I’d always wondered what the time difference was – it’s Saturday morning here, and I’m off to Tai Chi, followed by a glamping conference – how many wine platters to order etc.
Your kittens make me melt with envy…do you get to cuddle them????
