But they look so sweet..

.. Who could NOT love faces like that.

Yesterday we had another lovely sunny day on the farmy. By afternoon everything had thawed out enough for me to scoop the poop put of the cows loafing pen and fill all the water barrels with the hose.

The Shush Sisters went for a walk with me and ran around checking on everyone.  They were puffing like blown horses once they finally got back to their own field.

Just gentle quiet in the Daily View.

And just average in the temperatures. But if it warms up in the afternoon I can take the averagely terribly cold mornings.

Good morning. Thank you all so much for the outpouring of good advice about my poor miserable cracked finger tips. So from now on I shall put a good moisturiser IN the glove basket and then I will remember to moisturise before I go out during the day. As I am in and out frequently this should make all the difference. And I will find a good moisturiser. Thank you for your suggestions. PLUS I shall make a jar of beeswax salve when I have finished the writing.

The other suggestion is to moisturise and wear little gloves to bed as an intensive treatment, so I shall go about finding a pair of thin gloves for that. Won’t John be surprised! I told him if the bedroom gets much colder I will be going to bed in my hattie, just imagine if I go to bed in my hattie and gloves!

Ah well. At least they have stopped bleeding. I typed my chapter very slowly yesterday. Today I am on the last chapter which is a doozy so I will have to tell my brain to slow down so my fingers can keep up.

You all have a lovely day.

  1. Look at those piggie faces!!!! 🙂 Do put something on those fingers. I once read about some balm that they put on cows teats to prevent cracking that was good for hands. Came in a can that had cow print on it. Bag Balm I think it was. t

  2. Good morning, and I hope your ‘bloody’ fingers are feeling better. In your daily photo, why is there a black (rubber?) bark guard on that little tree? You don’t have deer or the likes that like to eat bark, do you?

    • It is cardboard (and I must get out there and tie it on) and we have rabbits.. they have murdered many a tree.. so this time of year i get out all the covers and do the trunks again.. they love the bark on young trees.. c

  3. Good morning Your Nano-achievement (apart from the cracked fingertips) is monumental, deserving of a laurel wreath. “just imagine if I go to bed in my hattie and gloves!” WOT NO SOCKS? I think you need one of my mammoth quilts.- when I’ve recovered from the Monster one for Sally. The sun is pouring his heart out today and I remembered to take a pic of Kupa’s feathers, which I will send you when I’ve worked out how to instal a new USB gadget so that I can download from the camera again.

  4. The Shush Sisters on their visiting rounds remind me of two Spinsters from Mayberry, RFD who go about collecting and spreading community news (gossip)
Love the photos today., glad your tippies are better.

  5. Your fingers are doing better and you’re on your last chapter. You’re just beaming with good news today, Celi! That’s great! Now, if we could just figure out a way to get this warm spell to last a bit longer. You know, until February…

  6. Hi C!
I’m glad your fingers are better. Is true, moisturize and put a pair of cotton gloves during the night helps a lot. I have a canister of cream with olive oil on my bedside table, is very good. If you want one I’ll send it to you.
Have a lovely day, my writer friend 🙂
