.. Who could NOT love faces like that.
Yesterday we had another lovely sunny day on the farmy. By afternoon everything had thawed out enough for me to scoop the poop put of the cows loafing pen and fill all the water barrels with the hose.

The Shush Sisters went for a walk with me and ran around checking on everyone. They were puffing like blown horses once they finally got back to their own field.

Just gentle quiet in the Daily View.
And just average in the temperatures. But if it warms up in the afternoon I can take the averagely terribly cold mornings.
Good morning. Thank you all so much for the outpouring of good advice about my poor miserable cracked finger tips. So from now on I shall put a good moisturiser IN the glove basket and then I will remember to moisturise before I go out during the day. As I am in and out frequently this should make all the difference. And I will find a good moisturiser. Thank you for your suggestions. PLUS I shall make a jar of beeswax salve when I have finished the writing.
The other suggestion is to moisturise and wear little gloves to bed as an intensive treatment, so I shall go about finding a pair of thin gloves for that. Won’t John be surprised! I told him if the bedroom gets much colder I will be going to bed in my hattie, just imagine if I go to bed in my hattie and gloves!
Ah well. At least they have stopped bleeding. I typed my chapter very slowly yesterday. Today I am on the last chapter which is a doozy so I will have to tell my brain to slow down so my fingers can keep up.
You all have a lovely day.

I’m glad your fingers are much better. I make up a mixture of Vaseline (you could use beeswax) and Nivia cream, half and half. It works great for my dry skin….
Great progress on your writing! Congratulations! You’ve got to get those poor fingers healthy and comfortable before your big trip! You need the full measure of your tactile senses for all those hugs and loving touches. Gloves at night is a very good idea. oxo
Do we get to read your book? I would be willing buy the book if it is available. And Look At You! The last chapter and November isn’t even over with! Excellent!

There is a lot to do before it will be a book, this is more of a draft though it does have some passages in it that i do particularly like. I will start the rewriting/editing until I go away and then on Jan 1st for real. Maybe I will choose a tiny piece and let you read it but basically the book, as a book to read, will be a while away yet. I am pleased though.. c
Ahhh – oh so cute:) Happy Weekend on the Farmy!
They do look very pretty. I just hope you hold off putting them between slices of bread for a while. Well done on finishing the book:)
They are breeding stock roger, naughty, we can’t EAT them! That would be all wrong.. c
How long have these characters/ and the book been rattling around
in your head ?? The piggies have become stars of the show…who
knew…as you were only going to get one I believe…..seems
like a long time ago…..n
It does seem like a long time ago now that the shush sisters arrived!.. the characters for this story are really all brand new, they started out like an old idea and quickly ran off in another direction.. WAY OFF in another direction.. c
I do actually wear a night cap to bed most nights!!!!
I kept getting headaches shortly after going to bed and one night when I reached up to rub my forehead I realized that the top of my head felt cold–so I covered and –no more headache!!!
so I keep my ‘cap’ right under my pillow for when I need it–now just don’t cover up my feet???
read you every day–love your farm!!!
Hugs, Di and her farm animal–

Today I received what one would call in a very old fashioned way – pin up pictures. The Shush Sisters. Such unforgettable faces. Such beguiling eyes. And the noses – noses to adore. ” They outta be in pictures, They’re wonderful to see. They oughta be in pictures. Oh what a hit they would be.” Your biggest fan … Virginia
Maybe we should pin them up, the barn could be covered in fabulous shots of themselves.. morning virginia.c
title for next novel – Bloody Fingers (The Sheep Did It)
brilliant! c
Didn’t the ladies wear lace edged caps to bed in the pioneer days, and what about all those pictures of men in their sleep shirts with the long stocking caps on? If your head is cold, then I say cover it up! 😉

PS: Liking Sorrygnat’s “next novel” suggestion!
I read just this morning Celi of a treatment for cracked fingertips. (I’m absolutely serious here!) This treatment was approved medically, so long as the cuts weren’t deep and gaping. The treatment? Super glue. It would seal the wound, prevent intrusion of bacteria, hold it all together while the cracks healed from the inside out. Once it heals sufficiently, the glue just comes right off. If you’re averse to using Super Glue and are willing to spend a bit more, liquid bandages will do the same.
Have a lovely day Celi!
I have heard the super glue theory, and hmm.. wouldn’t that HURT!! c
Never tried it. But don’t you hurt ANYway? At the very worst (seems to me) it wouldn’t hurt once it’s dried, and it dries Fast. I’d sure give liquid bandage a try though if you’re worried about the super glue. This article interviewed a number of people all attesting that no amount of lubricating lotion or ointment helped. But here’s another thought Celi – you have Bag Balm I bet! That stuff is absolutely awesome! Put that on your fingers (no need to wrap with gloves) and head to bed. If it can keep can keep poor tender teets from cracking…!
exactly, and it is on my hands twice a day already! and yes you are right.. they hurt already.. not so much today though.. all that loving from my blog babies! c
Those Shush sisters, I love they way they do the rounds and check everyone out. The have lovely piggie faces and kind hearts, I’m sure. We have the same conversation about bedroom temp when we are at our TA house… if it’s remotely possible the G.O. will have the bedroom door open onto the verandah, and although I threaten to wear one of his beanies to bed (a scary look on me any time), I have resorted to it only once in the middle of the night, as my head was freezing. It’s warm but feels weird.
When John has gone to sleep I sneak up and open the doors to the outside too! Ssh, don’t tell him. He thinks the cats do it… c
We just had a heat and hot water emergency and we were going to bed with all kinds of clothes on. Neither of us wore hats, but it was close!
Your piggie girls are very beautiful :*)
hats are the new nighties, maybe we can start a trend!! c
Funny how two gorgeous piggies can bring a whole ‘community’ worldwide together: methinks you truly have to become part of the mob ere you understand: most of my friends do not partake of the joy of blogging – try to tell them about the smile on your face when you see the Shush Sisters! Oh, Celi: a couple of days back: your miaow incomers I just happen to have as my new computer background [Daisy’s eye made me jump every morning :)!] – who has the tail out and whose sweet face can be seen?
Celi I’m in love with the piggies! Wishing you happy holidays 🙂
