Soon maybe we will have pasture rising up from the tiny seeds we scattered a week ago. But not yet though. I think the seeds will wait for decent shower of spring rain and some warmth.
Mama is not amused that she cannot get her whole body through the lambs creeping- in door.
Meadow and Minty. Meadow is standing on a brick, she is not That tall.
Scrapper spends a lot of energy living up to his name. He is frequently missing and comes home with evidence of rumbles with other cats. I am not sure that he is winning many of these fights either. But as soon as I have gathered the funds all three of the barn cats will be visiting the vet. Why is it SO expensive to get a cat neutered.
Break Time.
The clear skies we have been having give us cold days but I get a lot achieved when it is cold and calm. The good news is that today will warm up above 50 I think and maybe I can leave the pump in the barn tonight after the milking. Now that would be nice.
The Daily View.
It is getting a tiny bit greener.
Good morning. I have sat here in this predawn darkness, listening to John getting ready for work, and there are no words in my head. What an unusual occurrence. I am so tired that even my hands ache, and I have only just woken up, this is unusual as well. I need to start clearing the flower beds and digging the new gardens which is some of my favourite work so when the children and I have finished their lessons this morning we will go to the South side and begin. After my daily hour at the wood splitting pile. I never feel tired when I am gardening. There is certainly no time to loll about in the spring.
We had an excellent water discussion in the comments lounge yesterday didn’t we? I learnt quite a bit about how other people and their areas approach their water conservation and use. Thank you.
You all have a lovely day.
love celi
PS Evidently I had not set up the link to Balloon Girl correctly yesterday so as requested here it is again. Sorry about that. Sometimes I work too fast! Now I am off into the clear blue dawn to milk Daisy. c

Mama is trying though, isn’t she? I’m glad you explained the difference in Meadow’s size! Ton looks tired after all that chopping. Do you have a Humane Society near you? They will usually neuter pets for a lower cost.
Love the green ground on the Daily View! And Miss C, oh Miss C . . . if I look ever so carefully I think I can see some little buds on the first tree . . . isn’t it a maple? [And Miracle Woman, you ARE doing too much!]
Dear me, dear me, dear me. I fear the girl with the balloon needs to bite. The wood-pile, the seeded field, the well-house. the vet. (with concerned affection V.)
You are such a busy person… remember to take the time to smell the roses…
Balloon Girl was enchanting… I could see how you had polished it and it was worth it!
I think you’re working just a bit too hard! I think you should put the teenagers in charge of all the chopping of the wood. I know you like to stack it your way, but chopping too on top of all of your other chores? A girl needs a break every now and then. 😉
Still a bit of snow on the ground here. I walked the entire yard yesterday and I can see there will be a lot to do as soon as the last of the snow melts. Lots of fallen branches to be removed and leaves to be raked. Then the fun part…planning my organic vegetable gardens!
Have a lovely day Miss C! 🙂
Balloon Girl still makes me cry. It’s beautiful… and very brave. I’m so very glad there was a happy ending, eventually.
You are living a dream of mine.
I find everything with cats/vets is expensive. I had mine there today. He’s got a cold and pink eye. This will be an interesting few weeks. At least he trusts me implicitly. The vet, not so much. I’ve never seen such a mad cat. I love the shot of the daily view today. It looks brighter…ready for spring. 🙂
Celi! Are you tucked away right now, sleeping yourself silly?
