You see it was hot. Lovely-delicious-hot not dreadful-out-of-control hot. 96F (35C).
I gave the pigs a fan. Thank you Missie!
Sheila thought it was just lovely but would not share so Charlotte went to stand in her water container.
Smug pig. I swear if that pig stood up on her hind legs she would be taller than me. Their outdoor pig palace has been modified. Today I will finish installing their new gate so they will be able to wander at will from the barn to their summer palace and back during the middle of the day when it is hottest. It will be interesting to see where they spend most of their time, outside in the mud puddle or inside in the straw.
Blue spent some time with the hose yesterday. Trying to ‘Tame’ it.
And I weeded, I have weed-fed chickens, every basket full is lugged out to the chook house. This is why the yolks are so orange.
Then quite by mistake, it being Sunday and all, I lay down in the hammock, just for a few minutes you understand, and accidently took a photo of my foot.
And that was the last thing I saw for a little while.
Good morning.
I hope you all have a lovely day!
love your friend, celi

I wouldn’t view that foot photo as an accident, but one more heat worthy snapshot of the landscape.
You definitely deserve to put your feet up Cecilia! I hope you had a lovely drink in your hand too 🙂
It’s hard to say who looks the happiest…Sheila with the fan, Charlotte with her puddle or Blue with the hose…or perhaps your foot! I’m glad I’m not the only one who ends up with foot shots. 🙂
hee hee hee… too many mosquitoes here to bare my toes, but I love your photo(e)s…
Oh NO! Mosquitos would be awful! Too windy for the little blighters here yet! c
Nothing could be finer than a rest upon a hammock in the afternoon. That is what Sunday’s are for..to recover from the week and to prepare for the next week…a nice rest. (of which I do enjoy, very much.)

Hammocks are gifts from the gods.
Mine is literally fought over, people will slink from the room hoping no-one is noticing their invisible dash for the hammock while it is empty
🙂 Funny. I can just picture that domestic scene!
And what a nice foot it is!!!! Nothing like a good hammock, is there? Or a dog with a garden hose. Or a pig with a fan. You are toooooooo funny, and your life looks absolutely delicious to me.
A hammock. I am jealous!
Gosh, it’s gone from winter to a heat wave in two weeks!
Sounds like a perfect day was had by all!
I particularly like the pic of Charlotte standing in her water container to cool off – her face and the closed eyes says it all!
she is a smiley pig.. c
I hope you did enjoy more than a few minutes in that hammock. You have definitely earned some rest time. Where you live must be the part of the world that experiences the greatest swings in temperature. Love how the animals are finding their own ways to stay cool xx
Pig enjoying the fan, Blue enjoying the water, and C’s enjoying the hammock – all’s right with the world!
All that weeding, must have felt good, I know it did for me when I weeded the strawberry bed the other day! But how fabulous that the chooks are weed fed chooks, nothing like those ridiculous corn fed chickens you get in the supermarkets 🙂
So you do put your feet … er … foot up every now and then. Good for you! I’ve taken plenty of foot/leg shots and one memorable 10 minute video of the inside of my pocket. The only good thing about them is that at least I didn’t have to pay to have film developed.
Love how the animals all cope with the heat. Blue’s the smart one. He who controls the water controls the farmy. Hope you’re having a good evening, Celi!
The photo of Blue with the hose trying to ‘Tame’ it is my favorite.
