I promise this is the last of the “Oh, oh, that is so sweet!” posts. For now.

The moment Boo hears his kittens begin to cry for a feed, he busts into the house through the screen doors.  And I do mean Bust In with a Crash.  Then he rushes for their door and tries to jam his nose under the door until I get there with the bottle.

If I don’t keep their door closed he will go in and get them up, himself. He does not carry them by the scruff, he carries the whole kitten around its middle, so I am trying to discourage this.  Though he is careful.

See how his head is up and alert. Some kitty has wandered off.

He likes to have all three of them in one space.  He is a herding dog after all. Have you ever heard that expression,”Like herding cats?”. When they seperate and rush about into different areas he is a very uptight  BooNanny.  There are three kittens  in the next short sequence.  But with them all tangled together you need to search for them.

Little puss is in there too. It just took him a while to get over there. When Boo has them all in one space he is quiet. My dog can count. If he could warm and hold the bottle for them I would be obsolete!

Have a glorious day.  Today we are racking the wine then crushing apples for apple cider, just as soon as I have picked the rest of the apples! It has been an amazingly stunning year for apples. You know the rules: Waste Not – Want Not!

  1. Oh, please don’t stop with the story of Boo Nanny and the kKttens. Sounds like a title of a book, haha. In this world where bad stuff is happening, your blog is like sunshine. It is the first place I go every morning.

  2. You’d better keep posting pictures of the kittens and Nanny Boo – or their might be a riot.
Maybe there’s hope for the world if one little dog can step in to help three kittens in dire situation.
We need Boo and the kittens ( and the world needs a book of their stories)

  3. well i don’t know C. i really dont think you have anything to worry daddy’s day care boo can handle and if there is no complaints from them and you would have heard them he is their surrogate mother, he seems to be very tender mike

  4. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything so tender as the look on Boo’s face. He makes my heart melt. If he was a girl he’d have come into milk by now, as one of our afghans did when another produced fourteen pups. She came into milk and fed seven of them… and a cavalier King Charles spaniel who’d never pupped, came into milk to care for a kitten who grew up thinking she was a dog, and used to run around with a peg in her mouth for us to throw for her !
These posts lift the heart each morning…you’re wonderful in the midst of all your business to take on three orphans !!
