Life goes on …

But without the Little Kitten I am afraid. I wish I could give you better news.

aah-019He died while sleeping in the sun yesterday morning.  In all the time he was here he never really woke up. His eyes seldom opened. He weighed little more than feather. He just got lighter and lighter then softly drifted away.

But the other two are alive and noisy and still gaining weight and beginning to move about confidently.  Can you see Middle Puss under NannyBoos chin in the photo above? These two really are fighters. Maybe even mousers eventually.

And BooNanny is ever watchful.

While I was working in the barn Sheila came in to tell me that now the field chickens were out of Pats Paddock she could resume her walks.

So she has.

Life goes on. Daisy is still wondering whether Mama has better grass that she does. aah-054 aah-060 aah-068

We have piles of forage for the animals this autumn.  The grass is still growing.

Have a lovely day.

Love your friend, celi

  1. i know the feeling.
when life “passes” i always feel a bit sad, a bit fearful, a bit “dying” in my heart.
what a sweet way to go, though….lying in the sun….with life rolling on around….

love the photos of the rascally little kitties….

  2. That happens sometimes. At least you have the comfort that you tried your best. I raise Nubian goats. This past spring between the excessive rain and moving to a new farm I battled an entirely foreign (to me)load of parasites and mineral deficiencies. I had one kid out of nine survive. Kept on trying everything I could with him. Telling myself if I could get him to pull through that it was still a success. Last month I sold him. His new owner found him healthy and sturdy. I keep this on the front of my mind: Success may have to be redefined but failure is not an option. Blessings.

  3. Some little souls are just too light to stay anchored to the earth. Looks like the other two have plenty of energy, though. NannyBoo’s going to be busy for some time, I suspect.
