But without the Little Kitten I am afraid. I wish I could give you better news.
He died while sleeping in the sun yesterday morning. In all the time he was here he never really woke up. His eyes seldom opened. He weighed little more than feather. He just got lighter and lighter then softly drifted away.
But the other two are alive and noisy and still gaining weight and beginning to move about confidently. Can you see Middle Puss under NannyBoos chin in the photo above? These two really are fighters. Maybe even mousers eventually.
And BooNanny is ever watchful.
While I was working in the barn Sheila came in to tell me that now the field chickens were out of Pats Paddock she could resume her walks.
So she has.
Life goes on. Daisy is still wondering whether Mama has better grass that she does.

We have piles of forage for the animals this autumn. The grass is still growing.
Have a lovely day.
Love your friend, celi

Another set of little paws pass gently over the rainbow bridge, where pain and hurt are not allowed. He is taking lots of love with him to share with all those that have gone before….
Big Hugs to you Celi, you did a wonderful job in making his last days as warm and comfortable as possible, but some times these little souls are meant to move on.
Ah, you and Boo did give the wee little one some comfort and to pass while laying the sunshine loved as it was is a sweet passing.
Ohhh, I’m all teary. This is so sweet, that little kitty had warmth and love during his short time here. I’m glad he is resting. Love Boo Nanny and your blog every day.
I’m so very sorry too. We had such hopes. But if you had to dream up a more idyllic death, I don’t think it would be possible. Cozy and cuddled by fur and sun, many a good warm lick from Boo, and your kind hands and lap always there to feed him, growing lighter and lighter like a feather then an angel. We should all be so lucky.
Oh, I am so sorry the wee one didn’t make it. It sounded like his chances were not good, but how wonderful that you and Boo gave him some loving days to have on this earth before he became a kitty angel. And also that he died so peacefully in the warm sunshine. We should all be so lucky. You and Boo should be proud of yourselves for your tender loving care. And I just love watching NannyBoo do his thing. I wonder if you showed him how to scruff them if he would do it. He’s so smart. Glad to see the rest of the farmy is moving along peacefully.
Ah Well every now and then Mother Nature’s ‘Survival of the Fittest’ kicks in and we are left saddened. Sorry about the KItty. Daisy is beginning to look nice and round 🙂 and it is always good to see the Sheep. Were Hairy and Queenie on a play date? Laura
I think we were all just “hoping,” but this isn’t a surprise. I like to think the little creature sensed a little tenderness. And that Boo! What a wonderful nurturer. The light in your photos this morning was beautiful and presented a bit of serenity as the world around you wakes up! ox
Oh how sad. You gave such tender, loving care to that kitten around the clock for so long. You did good, Celi. It must have been exhausting. We’ve had kittens not make it and a vet told us once that some are born with heart defects and there is nothing we can do. I love how the kitten toddled about a little so you did give it a better life for a while. And it’s precious that Boo was such a good care giver. I imagine between you and Boo the little kitten was comforted fully.
Your fields look so lush! Plenty of stuff for the sheep to graze.

Aww. It is sad, but the little one died happy and warm and not cold and afraid. Some angels just don’t have to stay. Your grass IS LOVELY!!! We are slowly turning brown.

We’re so sorry but he was loved while he was here between you & Boo. Glad the others are doing ok. Nice way to go, in the warm sun.
I am so sorry you lost the little one !! It sounds like he went peacefully and you cannot ask for more. He was a lucky little kitty to have spent that time with you while he was here and you know you worked hard to save him and went far beyond what most people could have done !! How wonderful the other two are doing so great !!
I’m sorry for your loss.
You gave the littlest kitten the best shot it had, and the others. If you hadn’t taken them in, it’s likely none of them would have made it. Sad though. And you’ve show me something I’ve never seen, and will never forget, Nanny Boo and his brood 🙂 Good to see the rest of the Farmy ticking over solidly with Shelia making sure things are as they should be.
little kitty died with love around her; the sacredness of breath; Boo is wondrous
