A Right Royal Pain in the Arse

Sorry.. Had to say it! But now I know exactly what that expression is all about.

Yesterday was grim, more about teaching me what I cannot do. John took over the chores.  I took spells, resting on my side between other jobs.

But I am already improving.

Though after I had delivered the dinner to my little family, whose Mum came out of hospital last night, as sick as she was when she went in, John had to come and help me get out of the car. Next time I will take the bloody doughnut. There it is – my language deteriorating again.

But I found that standing  and rocking from foot to foot with a 4 week old baby snuffling into my neck like a little hedgehog, while directing the other five in the use of sharp knives to cut up their bacon and egg pie while their Dad drove to the hospital to pick up their mother,  was actually therapeutic for my poor little bones. The gentle rocking seemed to help.

The Clean Up. Sad old Elms. They are so old and so rotton in the trunks.  No more treehouse or swing anymore.

Have a lovely day. Today will be new and different and probably better.

Thank you so much for all your friendship and wonderful advice and care yesterday. Isn’t it interesting how many of us have suffered injuries to the tail bone before. We are quite the Fellowship in more ways than one.

And thank goodness that all of you who were in the path of these tornadoes also made it through OK.  All our thoughts are with those who did not.

  4. Good morning C.
I am still nursing my tailbone !!! busted it bout two months ago walking a 5oolb calf and she got excited and i tried to stop her. haha i am sorry you busted yours but i am with you on the doctors bit but i have to get my knee fixed. be a blessing like you do 🙂 mike

  5. I fell off a ladder on mine and it was rock underneath-Oh I know what you mean! We saw that bad weather, but the tornado hit a few hours from us and when I hear the man and his daughter( on the news)talking about the light showing through the stairs of their basement just minutes after they made it to the basement or the people in the closet…moments like that I hope I never see..terrifying!

  6. There is nothing like a painful butt… the rocking sounds like a good exercise… and made just gentle pinching and release of the rear (butt) muscles might help too…

  7. Love your heading this morning! LOL But then it probably means more to us x-pats than others.
I have always found rocking to be good therapy when I am in pain. Not sure why, but the gentle movement seems to lull the body into a more relaxed mode. A nice soak in a hot bath is another of my ‘need some TLC’ moments. Put in a good dose of Epsom Salts (will bring out any bruising) an light some candles and just lie back and breath!
Hope you feel tons better soon my friend!

  8. Even in your own pain, you are tending to others, helping that family in need. Such kindness, such love you possess.

When I commented yesterday, I was clueless as to the deadly and damaging tornadoes as I had not seen/read the news for two days. Now I am even more inclined to advise you to hit the cellar should a similar storm ever again blow into your area. My heart simply aches for those communities and rural areas devastated by the tornadoes.

  9. That title got a giggle out of me. On the bright side (maybe) your arse will be an excellent weather predictor for awhile. Mr. Marmalade is growing like a weed. It looks as though he will be a big kitty when he grows up or maybe a small doggy. I think he might have an identity crisis in his future. That egg pie looks yummy, I think I now need more to eat for breakfast than the bagel I just scarfed down. Hope your day is less painful.

  10. Happy to hear that you are on the mend and that you have a doughnut…those are supposed to be the best help for tailbones and butts! So incredibly kind, as well as above and beyond of you right now, to take food to that poor family when they need it so much and when you are not at 100 percent. Of course 20 percent capacity for you is the equivalent of 100 percent for the rest of us out here, you have so much drive and energy. 🙂 The shots of BooNanny and Marmalade made my day. Take good care.
