The New Daily View

Yes, the Daily View has changed. No more tree house and a lot less foliage.

But still minor compared to a lot of damage around the area. Here is the Daily View from exactly a year ago. If you want to check out that post you will see that  Kupa’s tail feathers were much more advanced this time last year. I am not sure why.

nov20-028There is still a lot to clear up after the wind. But it can wait.

Quiet day for everyone today. The Matriarch came and took all my laundry away and I had help with the housework. So I got some seriously restful healing done.

Now, I have not forgotton that you asked for the bacon and egg pie recipe so I will do that tomorrow.

Take good care, be careful on the steps in high winds.

your friend by the fire,

celi

p.s. If you want to go back exactly two years, here is that post.

  1. Do your peacocks scream (call) at night? We lived near some years ago and it sounded like a baby crying. Very unnerving. Glad you are taking it easy, although this tells me that you hurt more than you are letting on. You may have more than just a hairline crack on that bone…. Happy you have someone there to help with chores. Housework? Haha….that will still be there waiting for you when you feel better…..darn it.

  2. Thank heavens for the Matriarch! I’m glad you’ve gotten some help, Celi. You could skip a couple days posts, too, until it’s a little more comfortable for you. I think I can safely say that everyone here would certainly understand and would probably welcome the idea. At least think about it. 🙂

  3. when i was young, elderly neighbor lady used to hatch pea chicks under chicken hens, she claimed that the hens had to set[brood] on dirt for the peacocks to hatch
all around her vegitable garden was little doghouse size coops with no floors for broody hens.
she and those who raised game chickens for fighting, also claimed the chickens hatched out in dirt nests were stronger than the ones hatched inside chickenhouses or barns
after they hatched, she then put them inside, with mama on wooden floors till they grew feathers, 3 or 4 weeks old
so little broody houses could be winter progect after you heal
this is just what i can remember from almost 60 yrs ago,

    • This is excellent info, I put a few eggs under the broody hens last year to no avail. We are going t be working on mobile chicken units this winter so i might try and build a few of these too.. excellent, thank you ron, I will put my thinking cap on.. c

  4. Today it is 17 degrees here in S. Eastern ND! Brrrrr….we got snow last night. Not a lot, about two inches….wind blows so it is hard to tell for sure.

  5. Hi Celi, sorry to hear about your tailbone, I’m just grateful it wasn’t any worse. We were worried about you when we heard about everything on the news. I’m just hoping that your wearing a elegant dress or at least a feather boa while you lounge on your day bed drinking White Russians…….(but reality is that you’ve probably got a big coat handy just incase you need to assist yourself outside to recuse something). Heal well my sister.

    • thank you little sister, i am in yoga pants, big top and bare feet, socks are just too hard at the moment. Boo has very kindly offered to sit on the couch with me to warm my feet needless to say he got a no thank you. and yes my clown suit and big coat are at the ready, though so far everyone is behaving themselves.. how are your calves, i keep meaning to write..c

  6. Won’t mind the new Daily View once all the broken branches gone ~ once spring has sprung new foliage from the top of the broken ones will soon make us forget! Boo: well he wants to be Nanny Boo to you too 🙂 ! Thank God you are allowing others to help ~ so he wants in on the act!! Now one thing I hope you are doing when you are lying on your side, do you have a pillow stuck between your knees/legs? Less pain and faster healing, Miss C [yep that ‘mama’ won’t shut up, will she :D!]

  7. Hi Celi
So good to hear you were able to have some “real” rest today….that’s what it’s gonna take…that and a big dose of patience. Just lay on the couch and pet Marmalade!!!!!

  8. A test of your reclusivity… which if undertaken on our own terms is fine but not necessarily fine under terms foisted upon one. At least you have some assistance and four-legged furry company, the fire, reading material – blogs, books – audio books as well, so it could be sort of an enforced holiday if a painful one. Not much consolation I know, and I imagine it’s bloody annoying. A week of rest will likely, hopefully, make a difference 🙂
