Oh, there is so much to talk about. I try so hard to make these posts short and sweet enough to be fun to write and entertaining to read.
I wish I could tell you everything that makes my eyebrows raise, everything that makes me laugh. Everything that catches my eye. But I would not put you through it. So, how about just this one:
Aren’t they sweet. Inseparable until I put Marcel into his crate to sleep.
I thought I would reassure you that all Boo’s interactions with the lamb are supervised. He is a dog after all. And Marcel is a lamb. Although it is fun for us to point to the, sometimes almost human, attributes of our dogs. They are still dogs. One of the reasons Boo is seldom photographed with Marmalade anymore is that the cat does not tolerate rough play and steers clear of the dog. As the cat got older the dog got bolder. Often they will sleep next to each other but dogs bring a lot of weight to their play. Though Marmalade is now clever enough to keep himself up out of plays way. We humans must be responsible. Dogs are not humans. And thank you Rumpy for writing such a good article on this the other day.
Here is a rather muddled picture of the new super dooper milking machine. It will look happier when it is in the barn (in 21 days) and not loitering in the Cloakroom. It is a very sturdy model. I am well pleased. The Cloakroom where a lot of stuff sits that should not be sitting. Ah well.
Good morning. Here are Sheila and Ton coming home from a walk. Some of the snow has thawed so they were able to get out for a bit longer yesterday. Both of them hate to be cooped up. Sheila is allowed to take Ton for walks unsupervised. As long as they promise not to go outside the gates. They have to wait for a human to go down to the creek with them.
But both of them slipping and walking awkwardly on the icy snow. So no humans wanted to go out the gate and down to the Creek that is really a Ditch, yesterday.
I hope you all have a lovely day.
Your friend on the farm,
celi

How darling! So cute together!
Love that woolly lamb. Boo and Marcel look like bookends. I guess everyone has a space for stuff that doesn’t have a space of its own, we just have different names for it.
It’s a good thing that animals don’t imprint like young birds do or Boo Nanny would have quite a menagerie following him around in a couple years. I’m surprised to see ground in your photos. Our walks are clear and the ruts are gone from the streets but there’s no grass to be seen anywhere. All in due time …
Have a great morning, Celi!
I love the moment you captured in the first pic… simple dog joy 🙂 And it’s with similar joy we value our glimpses into the life of the Farmy which is so different from our own, for most of us. Littlesundog expressed it beautifully.
Lovely photos and lovely pairings! Thank you for sharing, celi. Always so great to follow you and despite the recent hardships the farmy has faced, it is so nice to see that there are lots of beautiful moments being created as a result.
You had me at the title (one of my favorite childhood books). But the photos are grand, too. And a good reminder that dogs are dogs and lambs are lambs and so on and so on. People who haven’t spent much time on farms often don’t realize how essential it is to remember that.
Simply lovely sequence of co-ordinated movement!
It will be interesting to see if the Marmelade bond strengthens again with lambs out of the way and as Boo matures to being less puppyish.
Those are delightful photos even if we anthropomorphize madly! they make us smile and a smile is a good thing xx
