Yesterday morning I was in a right grump. It was cold and raining and COLD and RAINING. I know it is bad to be in a grump about it being cold and raining with so many of you in California in a terrible drought but I was grumpy. Logic plays no part in grumpiness.
So I jammed my legs into my clown suit and my hands led my arms in a mood through my jacket and I stomped into my boots and out I went to do chores and yell at the dogs who were too bloody cheerful for my liking.
But then after lunch the sun came out…
and the bees came out and are already gathering pollen from the dandelions …
and the pigs came out to graze..
and I dug the weeds for the Plonkers (your header shot) and all was forgiven. Cold is OK if there is sun.
I was very, very happy to see the bees flying. That is a sign that the Russian Queen is out and cracking the whip. Tomorrow if there is a sunny moment again I shall open the hive and check her tiny box and see if they have indeed eaten the marshmallow plug that is in her doorway and accepted her as their leader.
Have a lovely day.

PS. It has been suggested that you might like to go to the JOIN US page (above) and leave a short message with your country of origin. Even if you do not comment often. You and I are always discussing the weather so it could be a very sweet reference page for The Fellowship. Absolutely no obligation of course My darlinks but a very clever thought.

Weather has a strange and powerful way of changing our moods. But you were so considerate to think of our friends in California suffering form this terrible drought. If I were on your farmy I’d have a hard time feeling grumpy after one look at the faces of those animals doing funny tricks to cheer you.
it’s okay to be grumpy, you’re allowed, and the sun always comes back, shines down, and forgives!
Ao true what Joss says about being allowed to be grumpy. To be grumpy is human
I know the wind round here can send people into funks and drive them mad I just feel alive when its windy
Weather & Geography try to keep us down at times….but just a little sun, a few frisky friends & realizing there are always others who would love to have our weather makes a change in the day.
I was slightly grouchy yesterday because the weather was warm and humid. It was thundery weather and, also, headache weather, which was probably why I was feeling below-par. But then I laughed at myself as I realised that I would be complaining if it was raining!
its ok to be grumpy once in a while…in fact it is good to know that you are human. Sometimes with your busy life I do wonder if I talk to a robot…but this cannot be….robots do not get the grumps!
So happily I say again ..its ok to be grumpy pants… and. all will always be forgiven ( but you did not have to send the bad weather to Bulgaria..its been raining for days
Just so you know, I’d totally eat a marshmallow plug to get you out of a tiny box.
Miss C, we could do with some of your rain its very dry here again!…….endless sunshine. Your winter is for such a long time ……not surprised you occasionally become grumpy.
I agree C, cold is okay (well sort of) if the sun is shining.
Have a beautiful farmy weekend.
🙂 Mandy xo
I too often grump at the weather, but not today: it is suddenly high summer here, though a little too breezy to put up the canopy to protect from the sunshine. Sorry. That was rotten of me to rub salt in the wound. Glad the bees are forthcoming.
It was eighty-seven degrees on Wednesday. Yesterday, it was 57. I am right in the grump with you.
We got a bit of the cold and rain down here also. The upside being that I did not have to drag hose to water the last of my flower seeds in. The downside being, well nothing much in hindsight. Yes be grumpy-pants once in while. How are the peacocks getting on? Any sign of pretty feather love in the air? 🙂 Have a green day!
Your place is really greening up! Enjoy the sunshine! It does make everything better!
Seeing the sunshine yesterday was very much a welcome treat. I just wish Mr. Sun would have stuck around a little bit longer to warm things up, but he’s back in hiding and the rain nears once again. Tonight I will cover my tomatoes and pepper plants. The temperatures are dipping too low for my comfort and I think they would appreciate a little extra warmth. I’m sure the piggies aren’t enjoying these cooler temperatures.
I will have to go out to the “Join Us” page and leave a note as well.
I did a geography blog post yesterday asking my readers to tell me where they are from. It’s a geography lesson for my girls and Lili is ever so excited about it. If any of your readers would be so kind as to hop over and participate, the girls and I would be ever so appreciative.
I know what you mean … we had 14 consecutive days of grey rain in March – I tell you I was a whole lot more than grumpy 🙂 I tolerate wind even less. Looking forward to seeing the results in the hive. I found/recycled a whole bag of glass marbles and placed them in the bird bath for my (wild) bees. My winter Aloes are blooming currently but once the first flush is over I will start adding sugar water to help the bees through winter. Thanks miss c for that great idea. I hope the sun is out to stay now. Laura
