There is a slight chill in the air in the early mornings now. Though it has NOTHING to do with the approach of autumn. Just a slight dip in temperatures that is all. Summer will come back.
My early morning walk over to see the calves is turning into my favourite part of the day… there is a little bit more magic when the light is low and the earth sits cool and quiet.
I hope you have a lovely day.

Mornings are so peaceful – and beautiful!
Auntie Del is just filmstar gorgeous… I love the light, the early morning mist you’ve captured so well. I’m with you on this, early morning is just the best time, before the sun gets a sting and the world wakes up and gets noisy.
The ditch looks beautiful and nice light on the calves 😉
Daisy’s bobby is really growing and getting furrier, prepping for winter, I suppose. Beautiful pictures. I can feel the peacefulness here in Texas. Ton looking intently down reminds me of what happened yesterday. I was up early at the computer and heard rustling in the dining room. Molly the cat and I investigated to find Bridgette the cat staring intently into the corner of the room. I figured it was a scorpion as we get those sometimes, but no, it was a small rat snake, about twelve inches long and no bigger around than a pencil. I picked him up, got him to drink some water and put him back outside. I did check first for a rattle on the tail as he wiggled it at me trying to pretend to be a rattlesnake…silly snake. Bridgette no longer hangs out in the dining room..ha
Have a wonderful, wonderful day C!
Kim, I understand why Ms. C. so enjoyed having you. You are fearless. A scorpion? Ho-hum. A snake? First see that it doesn’t go thirsty then release. Wow!
Amazing isn’t it..I would never have thought of wter for a snake!.. c
I love early mornings, especially in autumn. It feels like summer weather here at the moment though: warm, bright sunshine. Autumn is my favourite season but I’d be happy if the warm weather continued for a while.
Love the photos! I particularly like the second one down from the top. It would be a great calendar photo!
I hope you have a great day. 🙂
It was sweatshirt weather for awhile this weekend, wasn’ t it? I know that it will be warm again but it was kind of refreshing to have a little cool down for a few days. I can see why that walk is your favorite time of the day now. Lovely snappies.
Cooler here too. Also saw on the weather news last night that a cold front is due and around your area there could be frost later this week!! And the ‘S’ word was mentioned for places further north! Already?? Much as I like the cooler weather for working in, I don’t want summer to be over yet – I want a nice cool, sunny and dry autumn so I can get everything done and cleaned up before the long dark days of winter. Having said that I headed out early this morning to tackle the weeds and old veggies (beans) and it started raining on me! At first I thought “oh it wont be much and a little rain wont hurt me” – as if it heard me the cloud above opened its mouth in a big giggle and poured buckets of the wet stuff down, so I had to come in! Sigh, maybe it wont last long…….
Sorry to state the obvious, but cows have the sweetest faces.
I’m having a difficult time with the thought of summer changing to fall Celi. And I know resisting it is ridiculous! So I’m trying to welcome (please, no, not yet!) the signs of the next season. 🙂 xoxoxo
Weather is weird – we went from zero (last week) under 20*C to hero today over 31*C. Looking forward to summer here, seemingly bypassed spring this year. Laura
The light this time of year is truly magical. It possesses a certain sharpness and softness and signals the switch of seasons.
Even in sunny California the mornings are cooler. I watched the moon rise over a mountain top at a friends house last night and it was magical. Your photos are beautiful, capturing the light and shadows of the early morning.
We saw the same magical bright moon here in Sydney… wonderful that we all see the same moon 🙂
Absolutely amazing if you think about it.
I hope the winter stays well away from you for quite a while.
It is Indian summer here – lovely.
It is a wonderful time of day – and a walk then seems to start the day off better.
Love the 4th picture – it is the mood of early morning – but somehow also reminds me of the Wizard of Oz’s Tin Man’s head ..like there are 3 giant Tin Men hiding there keeping an eye on the Farmy.
I love all the photos but especially the photo of TonTon. Every hair distinguishable in the extraordinary light.
