Don’t be fooled though. Manouchki has been observed sleeping with dogs and also with pigs. She and Tima appear to have an arrangement whereby Tima lies really still and Manouchki lies on her back kneading all the knots out of those little pig shoulders.  True. I am stalking them today to try and get the shot. But  it is almost impossible to sneak up on a pig.

Speaking of Tima she was banished back to her own  quarters,  and out of min,e yesterday afternoon for breaking a red bowl, sticking her head in the rubbish bin, then running off with a potato from the pantry. hay-008

Bad baby piggie. hay-003

Do you see Godot’s tail growing? He is still a very shy bird, it is hard to get a decent shot of him. But he is growing.

tedder

The handsome hay-man came with his teddy today and tedded the hay.   They should just call it a fluffer as it fluffs up the hay.  But I guess tedder is better. The ground is very wet and rain is threatening to fall again on Saturday.  So now my hay field looks like this, in the hopes that it will  dry faster.hay-007

I will decide on Friday when to rake it.

Dinner. Do you like my new kitchen table? The Matriarch found it for me on a garage sale.  I love it.

I hope you have a lovely day.

Your friend on the farmy,

miss c

  1. Kissy kitty. Now that’s the way to start the day. (If it was video, it would be viral by now….you next venture? YouTube Farmy Channel…only if it raises funds…kitties have their pride. …a paw-pawing kitty on a pig…now that would get a click or two…Manouchki will be demanding a celebrity star for her walkway soon)
We had that table – what legs it has to walk all the way there!

  2. Kissing kitten…..what a delight! My Lobo loves to knead my body when laying in my lap……he also sucks on my arm. Tima has everyone wound around her little hoof,,,,lol. When she has piglets your posts should be really funny. My aunt used to have a table like that, it had a drawer for the silverware, too. How fortunate that it found a home with you.

  3. Hi Celi. That table is perfect for you. It was so lovely of the Matriarch to get that for you. It occurred to me that throughout all your posts it shows that you are really loved in your adopted community as people always seem to go out of their way for you. It is lovely to see. Going on your trip to NZ will give you two senses of coming home – how cool is that! I really enjoy reading your posts – it motivates me. Take care of yourself. Cheers Sarah : o )

  4. Manouchki the sweet and Tima the terrible but cute… I too love your new much-loved table, and have my eye on similar but not quite as lovely as yours in a second hand shop just waiting for a red sale sticker to maybe appear on it. As I say to the G.O. you can never have too many tables…. and chairs… and…

  5. Garage sales are the best, the table looks great. Do they have garage sales in New Zealand ? They don’t in Germany. I looked up Tedder and this is what I got:
    a person who teds.
an implement that turns and loosens hay after mowing in order to hasten drying.

  6. Love your table. I’ve always wanted one like that with an enamel top but lack the room for it. I have recently gotten a sweet little doe goat. I got Fanny to keep Otis the Goatis company after losing Ralphie but she and Percy have become pals. She is still very small and when I enter the pen Percy, as usual, parks himself on my feet so I can’t maneuver and Fanny puts her front feet on his back to make herself taller and a whole lot of baaing and squealing ensues. Sometimes they only want attention, more often it’s food. Their antics always make me laugh, thereby making them worth every bit of trouble they cause!

  7. I was admiring your table, as I didn’t recall seeing it before. The top is the perfect landing spot for hot pans. Since she can’t be in the “doghouse,” I guess Tima has been sent to the pighouse. Banished! Poor Tima. She was just lookin’ for a little snack.
