Just for you!
Close your eyes (if you like) and just listen (if you want to). These are the sounds in the barn yesterday in the middle of the morning. I left my phone on record and went off to hang out the washing. So there is no-one in the barn but you and the animals. I think you will be surprised at the cacophony.
Today is just for listening. During this recording you will hear your wee goats. The chickens, roosters. Earlier are the kunekune, later it is Poppy. A truck drives up and stops (Our John). You will even the sounds of Godot gently looking for his girls. And the birds. Always the birds.
A new frontier… thank you to Charlotte from Milan who suggested this.
I look forward to doing this again. It is a totally new experience for us isn’t it? Something for us to explore. We certainly have made a big leap across the divide. Do you like it? or would you rather that the sounds were only in your imagination.
Today Our John starts back at work. So now we UP the ANTE – as I will be taking over the plants as well. New eggs are in the incubator and today Jake and I get all the materials for him and his team to make the new chicken (and turkey) tractors. He has a plan.
Have a lovely day,
Your friend on the farm,
celi

What wonderful sounds from the farm! Felt like we were in there with them!
I love this! A terrific idea from one of The Fellowship. Sometimes I refuse to see movies made from books that I have enjoyed because I like to have my own images left intact. This audio far exceeds anything I could have imagined. We just went to the next level and can not go back. Awesome! Love it! I can’t quite pick everyone out just yet but am going to keep listening.
Oh C. I’m with everyone else…this was wonderful! I too was trying to pick out the individual calls, trying to imagine who was making that sound…Now, I have another idea…how about a short video to go with the voices in the barn? I think you could do that with your I-phone but that’s all I know…how to download it to computer is beyond my technical range…which is very limited to say the least!
Thank-you for this…it made our day! How do you get a word in edgewise out there in the barn? 🙂
I love all of these comments!!! just great to read the “city folks” comments!!! and now some want some videos!! I’ve always said that the farm is the greatest place to raise a family! and even when we don’t have kids (like me) I love the country and my animals!!! good job Celi!!
Wonderful! This takes me back to when I was a kid on my grandmother’s farm. We used to go out to the hen houses and collect eggs in the morning, and you could hear all of the animals making their morning sounds. Thanks so much for sharing this with us!
That was AMAZING! We are hoping to go back to Spain for a month or so soon, you have inspired me to make a recording of the goats, chickens, dogs, donkies and birds Up Our Mountain so that I can listen to it whenever I feel homesick 😦
I LOVE IT!! Please do this again. 🙂
This is soooo cool, Celi! Are they all waiting for brekkies? Or do they think they need to be outside?
I must confess, I’m sitting here teary eyed! Can you imagine? I love technology and you, Celi.
Oh it brought back memories of my childhood, growing up on a farm between Italy and Austria. Yes, you are right, there were always noises.
Oh this is just wonderful… sitting in bed in early morning semi-light with coffee listening…. I have tears in my eyes and I’m laughing. I’m already planning to listen to it in the office… via earphones though I think, can you imagine it otherwise! 😊 Sounds to replenish the Spirit 🙂
I’d love to know who is the one with the single high note at constant one and a half second intervals.
What lovely voices! Of course I’m used to various woodland birds and chickens here, but I so loved the cacophony of barnyard sound. This was a wonderful idea! Please do it often… it’s quite soothing.
I’ve been saving this all day for a treat (is that sad?!) and its wonderful. Worth the wait. Thank you to whoever suggested it, and thanks Celi for recording. Love that we can put a bit of a voice to some of the inhabitants – makes them more 3-D (or perhaps that’s because I’ve settled down with a glass of wine…) It is noisily soothing. More please!
Oh my, what a fabulous idea! Loved it Celi .. what a wonderful cacophony. Dr Doolittle, where are you? 😀
