We spent all day getting back home from the airport then threw our city clothes into the baskets and changed into farm gear and got to work. She was thrilled to see Geraldine and Naomi so big and strong.
We talked and talked and talked. We only stopped talking when she fell asleep on the couch in front of the fire, after dinner.
Amanda loves to make special drinks and our drink for this visit is Gin and Champagne and Lemons from her mothers tree with a twist of mint. Divine.
I LOVE intelligent women.
I hope you have a wonderful day.
We will!

I bet Amanda was keen to see all the animals. That drink sounds interesting – what are the proportions? 🙂
I might have found it – a French 75:

YES! That is it and it is great, I did add a little bruised mint..plus no sugar c
That sounds good – I’m not a fan of sugar myself 😉
How wonderful she is back!!!! No doubt there will be fun times and festivities during her entire stay!!! xoxoxo
Let the fun begin 🙂 Laura

Welcome back Amanda!!
Welcome Back Amanda…enjoy your time and stay sober..but above all Have a happy new year
Talk is not cheap; it is valuable, precious. You are blessed. I love intelligent women too. And men, but theirs is often the abstract, or argumentative kind, as if on a debating team. So although I enjoy our free flowing energetic talks at the pub or the poker table, I envy your relaxed conversations, enriched by refined spirits (not puffed up or bloated by beers)
Amanda is so clever, she is a scientist she loves to learn so her discussion is always up to date and very impowering for me!.. c
What a lovely thing.. a visit from a friend who knows the soul of the farm, the land and the “herd”. Help with chores in the brutal winter conditions… and warm cozy nights in the house, with fizzy or steaming drinks and deep conversation. Does it get any better?
Oooooh! I see Ton Ton’s portrait!!!!

I love Ton Ton’s portrait!

There’s nothing like good friends…. esp. intelligent ones!! And there’s nothing like having time… quality time… to spend with them. When we owned our farm we used to have tons and tons of guests – and I always felt even closer to them after being able to spend more than a quick hour or two with them. At the farm we had time to walk the property, visit the animals or just sit on the porch in our pjs watching the St. Lawrence River flow by. That kind of time. The kind of time you have right now with Amanda!!
I bet that Geraldine recognized her! HAVE A LOVELY VISIT!
So pleased your friend is back. I rather like the sound of gin and champers .. And intelligent women of course 😊
How wonderful to have a kindred spirit with you to share the conversation, food, the animals and a drink or three. Enjoy this special time.
