PEA and THE SUNFLOWER STALK

As I was filling the waters yesterday I was studying my maturing Pig Pastures. I found to my delight that the peas (Austrian Winter Peas, if I  remember rightly) are growing up straight up the stalks of the sunflowers. I was pretty excited about this as this had been The Plan! it is not too often that things go according to plan.

Soon I will have to put the pigs in here but I actually wish I could let these fields grow all summer just to see what happens.

Of course that would defeat the purpose!

Tane is a good sharer. He will share his puddle with anyone as long as they leave room for him.

We will see whether it rains today. If it does we will pot up some more of the hedge apple trees and hydrangea cuttings and willow cuttings then sow some more seeds for late summer. All this work can be done in the glasshouse. But I don’t see any rain imminent so hopefully we get time to plant the leeks first.  They are way overdue getting into the garden!
