WaiWai was able to open the feed store door yesterday and politely stood with his head inside the door waiting for me to stop mucking about with hoses and “get on with feeding time already!”

He has an enormous capacity for waiting.
He doesn’t lie down to wait like all the other pigs. He waits standing up silently like a horse.
See how the feed store floor is slightly elevated? He is resting his chin on the floor. His head does look heavy. Though i forgot to put his fav food on the Feed List. His monthly sponsor insures that he gets apple and bananas for dinner though.

So I think the broom experiment has been a success! Need to put that on The Things I don’t need but kind of Like List.

So dry now the ground is beginning to crack. It makes hoeing easy. I will start on the sweetcorn today. It is dusty work. Pop that on the Garden List.
I keep thinking my legs are getting a tan but it is just dirt!

You know – making lists is all very well as long as one remembers to READS them!

A bucket of eggs rolled over in the straw while I was playing with FreeBee. And you know how I am – had to take a picture!!
Have a lovely weekend.
I am going to get my suitcase out today and start finding the woolies. NZ is in the winter (cheaper to fly) and I am hoping for piles of wet cold walks on the beach!
Now, where is my traveling list?!
Take care Talk soon

What a talkative pig!
It’ a good job Tima didn’t get into the feed store – she doesn’t have Wai’s manners!
No! Tima can roll bog barrels over! Living in her field is much better for her health!
Amazing how two pigs can be so totally different.
I think I remember Tima getting into the feed store in the past!
Yes. When it was in the garage – so dangerous. Imagine Tima with the bloat!!
Ha ha – she’s a pig!
I just love lists! And especially checking off what I have accomplished! That’s the best part! 🙂 And that FreeBee, I think he loves you to pieces!!! And he might possibly be spoiled as well! 🙂 🙂 🙂
He is a bit spoilt . Maybe just a little!! 😂
You have the best pigs, and always so full of stories to keep all of us entertained. Wai deserves an extra treat for being so patient I think. Freebie may need to start his own blog soon 😉 I so agree about lists- in my case they are only useful if you don’t forget where you left them.
I agree with you, Deb. If I do write a thing down, that pad or paper goes under & out of mind too. Making lists has almost never worked for me.
And FreeBee sure does have a lot to say. Wonder what it’s all about. His soulful eyes have a look of love, or contentment, gratitude for his good life?
He has had his bath, evening snack and off to bed.! Content – even with a muddy face.
Yes, he has the most amazing eyes and I think they are all for Celi 🙂
Do you all remember another hog on the Farmy back some years ago with most beautiful eyes, like Omar Sharif’s? Was his name Roger?
I do not remember that one at all. The two pigs that stick out from the past for me are Sheila and Poppy. Maybe Roger (?) was before I joined the Farmy group 🙂
Manu. Judith. Yes He did have the most beautiful yes.
Oh yes! Now I remember, thanks C 🙂
Welcome Deb.
Oh, yes, Manu! Exotic like his Omar eyes! Thanks, Celi.
He was the perfect boar.
I’m a list writer and list loser and forgetter, but I works for me
Yes!! We are the same!!
it )
I love the chat with FreeBee. What a cool pig! I am a serial list maker. In fact, I have lists of lists.
That fantastic. Are they on paper? How does the list of lists read?
They are all on paper. There are master lists and sub-lists. Monthly, weekly and daily lists. Then there are grocery lists, books I want to read lists, books I want to buy as gifts lists, blog idea lists etc. etc. It’s complicated but works for me. As long as it’s on a list, it will get done!
That is awesome. I try so hard to get that organized !!
I keep lists, yes that’s plural, on my phone. I even “share” a few of my lists with Peder. The power of being able to sync!
LOVE lists, ticking chores done is the best. So you do have a favourite pig, and l’m not surprised, that sound bite was the best, thankyou.
I make the lists then forget where they are – or I just forget to check them! Sorry for the late reply Andy – Just now got to my admin housekeeping.
I love lists and anything that gets it written down in some form and out of my head… I use my phone to send myself emails.
Loved the video clip… my dog also laying here on the bed keeping me company while I drink coffee… it is Sunday morning and cold outside… listened too, his ears pricked up (he also enjoys your voice in the podcasts).
Glad the broom worked out. You can take the handle off and instead screw the broom head onto a post. I screw long 4 inch screws right through the base. It does look well loved!
Yes. I will do that. I didn’t want to wreck the broom until I knew it would be used.
The flies are evil this summer.
They leave such huge holes! The donkeys’ poor chests are hard with scabs. So is my arm! Another thing my guys like is a fan. I buy the cheap box fans (usually used for a house). I don’t want an industrial fan that will catch a chick or grab a donkey ear. I hang them in hay nets from the barn rafters. That way I can adjust their height and use bungee cords to pull the net such that the fan faces where we need it. Jill, oldest donkey, stands with her face resting against the fan. She doesn’t like bug cream in her ears (like Rosie and Joker do) and has figured out her own way to keep the flies away. The other success around here are the mesh bug catchers. I don’t like the zappers bc they catch butterflies and moths and every other flying insect… These mesh traps hang like Chinese lanterns with a small dish at the bottom. I put cat food in there. That attracts the flies. When they rise up off the dish they go into the mesh cylinder and can’t find their way back out.
Hanging the fans in hay nets is an excellent idea. Thank you so much! Those horse flies have arrived too. I hate them the worst!
I love that hill stands with her face in the fan. Bless her.
So lovely to hear your & FreeBee’s conversation (and such a satisfied munching: ) Thank you for sharing!
Eek! I would be lost without my lists. Some time I think I will go a week without them and see what havoc happens.
