I’m Late

I hate being late.

The older I get the more I am determined to be on time.

And the more forgiving I get when other people don’t do what they say they are going to do on time.

A juxtaposition, yes?

Ah well.

So much wind on the beach yesterday that we took our afternoon walk around the little beach town full of very sweet little baches.

I am late posting today! Our morning got away on us!! I hate being late!

And now we are off out on our last walk! Down to the beach before these two are returned to their parents.

I think the wind might be down.

In the meantime – aren’t these little houses so cute.

Which one is your favorite.

The kids are standing at the door waiting.

We are going to have ice cream in a cone (no plastic).

I’m late!!

Celi.

  1. I would be happy in any one of them- being near a beach. It is so deceptive with the bright blue skies and sun. I have a hard time remembering it’s winter there.

  2. I love the first one that looks like blocks piled atop each other. If those adorable houses were on the west coast beaches they’d all be in danger of being torn down to make way for biggger and better (not) houses. And I hate being late, too. Though I have little tolerance for others who are.

    • It has certainly stayed a backwater out here. There are a few baches that have been tarted up ( mine) but most are family owned and kept delightfully basic for the families that own them. I bet it is busy here in the summer.

  3. Love them all but if l HAD to choose reckon the first one just has the edge l dislike being late, l think it’s an age thing, l don’t remember it bothering me so much when l was younger! Enjoy the next stage of your travels.

  4. I love the blue one. I have always wanted a deep blue house with white trim, or white with blue trim. If it had red or pink geraniums in window boxes, I’d be on the next plane (figuratively). And I’m with you on lateness. Why is it OK to be late? Why is it OK to make me stand around while you take your time and swither about (I wanted to use a much stronger word but am trying to be respectful of more delicate sensibilities)?

    • Swither is a gorgeous word!! And yes. I am waiting on Duane to fix the issues with our new website. If people can’t subscribe I don’t see the point in it. I think I may have been scuppered.

  5. I love the first and the third…but honestly, they are all perfectly imperfectly absolutely delightful. A dream to stay in any of them ALONE for a week with nothing but the howl of the wind and the crashing of waves and the quiet of one’s own’s not-quiet thoughts. Yum.

  6. I like the last one and the blue one! I think the last one more, I’d put a little bistro table on the patio and eat out there when it wasn’t windy.

  7. All of the little baches are lovely. Small, simple, minimalistic, like so much used to be. Not sure why some things, (houses, boats, cars, etc.) have to be the bigger the better. Give me a small beach bungalow right on the beach, maybe in Thailand, and I’m a happy camper! 🙂
