Do you have trouble remembering the day? (they keep changing). Or the month?(they keep changing too) or which of the knobs is the hot water (I am so grateful when there is a little color coded dot on top of each tap) or whether a door will open automatically or you have to push it.
Or whose house you are in when you wake up from a dead sleep. If you sleep. I have not been sleeping since I hit the USA.
You cross into a different country and the sun is at a different angle and you pause for a second – is this winter or summer? What time is it where you are? Is it bed time already?

I have been traveling so long now. And I am very happy with how it all turned out. I got to spend some real time with some of my truest friends and the dearest members of my family. I flew into San Fransisco to spend a couple of days with one of my oldest friends. (more on that later) Then I jumped on a train from Oakland to Fresno – and chatted with some lovely people on there. (more on that later, too) (we exchanged recipes!).

I feel topped up. More confident. Stronger. More ready in a way. There is a lot to get stuck into when I get back to the farm. In a week.

I am back in the Central Valley in California.

The big storm that hit California did not get up this far though we did get a day of rain which is not good for the grape harvest.

Walking with children is the very best.
Walking Words –
This is my first full alone day in months so I am playing catch up. I have already walked my morning walk and the air is full of the sounds of suburbia and her fleet of gardeners.
Thank you so much for popping in – I have not posted in a week – but with the lack of sleep my words were gone.
Take care and Talk soon.

I hope they haven’t locked you up in Alcatraz!
Welcome back – it’s Wednesday here 😉
You know! For some reason I had never really clocked that Alcatraz was off the coast of San Francisco! My friend said do you want to go out and look at it- they have tours, he said: I said NO. 😂
I remember from a Clint Eastwood movie 😉
You have a better memory than me Mad. Though I do remember images from the movie.
It was “The Enforcer”.
I refused to go to Alcatraz too, Celi. Too many unsettled spirits there for my liking.
We went on a tour to Alcatraz years ago and I loved it. Fascinating, you can walk through the cells and imagine what it must have been like. But what I loved best was the story about the Native American protest that took over the rock in 1969-71, almost two years! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occupation_of_Alcatraz And it had at least a little effect on governmental policy to the tribes.
Oh I think I remember reading about that protest/
Closer to home! Wonderful 🙂
Yes! Slowly making my way across the world. On the home stretch now.
I do! I’m on summer break
It’s Wednesday here too, Mad, just about suppertime- I’m having leftover from last night lemon pasta with fried lemons & basil & a sprinkle of garlic bits, capers & parmesan & feta crumbles. Here is another little walk that came up on the page at the end of your video, Celi. (brief stroll around Giverny-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBEFYElmflM
It is Thursday morning here in New Zealand with so many signs spring is nearly here. WHOOPP
Thursday here in Australia too. And we are midway through our glamping between the beach and the lake holiday, and yesterday like you we spent some time catching up with family.
Oh, I feel for your lack of sleep. I have not slept well for a few years now and that can impact on one’s mental acuity. Travel on top of it messes with me even more. The only way I cope is naps. So glad you are feeling renewed and ready for your return to the farmy.
I’ve been all turned around this week regarding days. And, unlike you, have remained in the same time zone! Glad/sad you’re almost home. Have so very much enjoyed your adventures.
The hot/ cold water thing always throws me….even in my own sinks
I’m glad your soul is fed….
It’s Wed nite here in Central IL ~ we’re in a steam bath! It was 97 deg today!! A bit hot n humid!! But for me I can easily handle this better than deadly floods or the horrible fires in Maui.
Oh yes. We are doing ok! I hope John is filling the wallows for the pigs! I always worry when I am away
All I know is that today is NOT my Friday. 2 more days, then I can rest a bit. Glad you are refreshed!
Two good nights sleep under my belt now. So much better!
Thank you! This is really good to read. Glad you are refreshed!
Loved this. Your pictures are fantastic.
Thank you! They get better when I get back to the farm!
I just created a blog and would love some advise. Would you check it out? renoinspired.com
