The season is slowly lowering her light.
Casting her shadows longer and further.
Autumnal shades of gold are creeping in around the edges:
Today I start editing the text for this week’s podcast on SubStack.
Podcast on Sunday.
Farm Sounds on Wednesday.

So the words here will be fewer today as this week’s story is taking up a lot of head room.

But that’s ok.

We don’t need words all the time. Not you and I.

Just quietly wandering through yesterday’s pictures is often enough.

Just a visual hug will do.

Wai looks particularly grumpy and poor Quacker is sitting all alone, bathed in golden sunshine. Perhaps she’s sunbathing!
I do worry about Quacker with winter coming. But ducks don’t cuddle for warmth as a rule so I guess she will be ok.
Perhaps Wai and Tima will adopt her…
She hangs out quite a bit with Mr Flowers and seems a little calmer lately.
That’s good – I bet he’s lonely too!
I have a lone rouen duck hen (Betty the duck). She goes into the chicken’s coop every night and sleeps all by her lonesome in the corner under the roost. She had done fine.
That is heartening.
I sure to wish I could send a few of our ducks to you Celi! They could be friends with Quackers and you could start a bit of a duck farm, as these Muscovies are very prolific.
A donkey that Hee Haws, as you mentioned yesterday, would fit perfectly on the farmy. We have a very vocal one across the road who makes me smile daily as he hee haws away! 🙂
Photos taken in the fall always look better. Warm, cosy and comforting. Those chicks (chickens) see how they grow…
The weather is so warm that the color is just starting and hanging in there.
Love the light in the fall
It is almost at its peak beautifulness!
The last week, the dwindling light was really noticeable, especially upon waking up!
I love the autumn light—it’s so easy to see the light and the dark and golden.
This was a lovely visual hug.
Beautiful Autumn photographs. Have just returned to UK from Italy to find Autumn is on the way together with Autumn temperatures! I have fancied a miniature donkey since seeing the film The Banshees of Inisherin. Hope you are continuing to get some time back.
Oh! Now I want to see that film!!
I love that low, slanting golden light. Nearly as good as the pearly pale light of early morning…
