Bright White Waxing Gibbous

I had trouble coming inside last night.

The moon, though only at half strength, was washing the land in silver.

And it was the perfect temperature for a walk.

It was dusk when we started off but soon the fake lights were shining on the horizon, competing with the stars. We finished by walking back up the south side of the property. ( The north side has all the windmills with red flashing lights so I prefer not to look that way at night). It felt to me as though there were more lights than usual on the horizon last night. There are a lot of harvest vehicles in the fields so many of the lights were on the move.

Boo and I saw tracks going from the path through the long grass and down the bank to the creek. Too wide for a mink though. Boo investigated every track.

The harvest displaces animals so they will be seeking cover along the overgrown ditch that was a creek. We will walk frequently down that way for a while to lay our scent across theirs and remind them that we are close.

Farm SoundScape

I am still working on a format to create a weekly Farmy SoundScape. The one below is just ok.

As in not terribly relaxing. I loaded it into utube without issue (thank you Mad!) but was not fast enough with the cover. (I will get better) I think each one needs a different cover so people can easily find their favorites.

I will add the TKG Sheila logo to a still. (I can make it each time in Canva).

This one in not in the barn. It is outside at the feeding. But I don’t like it. Tima is too noisy.

Boo waiting as I photograph the horizon. He is lit by the sunset.

Good morning. Have a lovely day!

I am a bit late publishing because it is ‘shower and doctor morning’ this morning. All you caregivers out there know what that means.

I hope all is well with you on this morning.

  1. I love moonlight. The picture of Boo is perfect. I actually like the Farmysoundscape this time. Especially the rooster crowing. I like the sounds of Tima too. You know I didn’t like living on the farm when I was young. But now the pictures and sounds make me feel happy all over.

  2. Ha ha – Tima sounds like a grumpy warthog on the plains of Africa!
Was she demanding attention of food?
Lovely sunset picture of Boo and the thistles.

  3. Love it Celi!! I’m a farm girl so i enjoy the sounds of the animals!!!
Of course I wish I was sitting there with my Boo Boy!!

  4. Gorgeous sunset and moonlight pictures. Reading about Boo’s bravery checking animal routes and yet terrified of storms made me smile. Shower and doctor morning sounds like progress but extra commitment for you. Do hope things continue to improve for your M in L.

  5. A great post! My favorites are the sound video, Boo and the last photo. BTW, you are quite the onjenu when working on the farm. Me? Not so much, and often its me in my jammys, a warm robe, and sporting fashionable muck wear… Yeah.

  6. Love the SoundScape. Tima is like a small, determined tugboat, chugging ahead unstoppably to whatever has her attention. I love the sound of the chooks crooning to themselves and the roosters announcing the morning.
