Back home with slightly scorched wings.

Traveling fast and light with nothing but Little Blue Bag is how I love to travel. And travel energizes me – invigorates me – makes me stronger. But traveling this fast means I sometimes fly a little too close to the sun.

Tima the kune kune with chickens

And getting back to a messy, sticky house and farm after being at full throttle is just demoralizing. I am all for independence. But Independence is stronger with team-work if that makes any sense. We should help lift each other up and help each other be independent and strong.

Anyway I was wild about the state of the house when I got back (and you know how I work fast when I am furious) so I spent yesterday cleaning. I just cannot focus when things are a mess and it was obvious the dogs had been inside the entire time I was away. (Which I am sure they encouraged).

Rescue pot belly pig

You will see that we have been working on the blog too. Melanie has put in the cream background and the black text. Do you like the cream? I find it restful. And it helps my photos to pop.

Black calf with white blaze

While I was away I began the plan to bring my website online.

Now I am back here I see that I will have no time for that this week. This morning I will organize doctors appointments. Other members of the family need to get health advice, too.

Rescue Hereford hog, FreeBee

Today the house is ship shape and ready to go. Now I will begin in the barn, again. And the gates.

Field raised broilers

The white chickens are looking really good.

Can you see my foot? That will give you an idea of how big they are now. You have to wear gumboots in there. If I don’t feed these chickens fast enough they peck at my legs!!

Have a lovely day!

PS. Below you will see my ZAZZLE account. I am looking for someone who has a little spare time and experience who would like to spruce it up, add more products, fix the header, switch to organic TShirts and help me sell. I cannot afford to pay a person outright YET but am hoping that this someone might go 50/50 with me for a year. (The pigs need the money). Christmas is coming and I have so many ideas, but little time, there is tons of content right here for postcards and I have all the new Sheila graphics from Charlotte.

OR this someone might have a better company to work with!

This person should be in the fellowship so they understand the mission of self sufficiency and sustainability – which is why I am telling you here.

Email me at celima.g.7@gmail.com

This has a ton of potential and ZAZZLE has lain idle for too long. I am not sure I even know the password anymore!

Ideas in the Lounge of Comments are of course always welcome.

  1. I feel your simmering fury… Like when I have just washed the kitchen floor and come back to see the prints of work boots filled with black abrasive mine-mud. Or less unforgiveable, muddy paw prints (after all, the doggo cannot remove his paws and doesn’t know how to wipe his feet). I think I am more forgiving of mess than you are, It has taken years but I can now resist the urge to give out about it. Those meat birds can’t be far off now. Good that they’re fully feathered; you see all too many where every ounce of energy has been given to putting on weight and the wretched things can scarcely waddle. Yours are SO much healthier being raised outside and given access to natural food and minerals.

    • I say nothing just get down to cleaning. But I definitely simmer !😂Though I did say something about boot marks on the end of the couch. Take your damn shoes off before lying on the couch!

Today I am going to lock Tima in for a while and let the white chickens roam a little further into the long grass. They love their greens (and Tima loves their food!). BooBoo and I will stand watch!

  3. The color on the blog works well for me. As to independence, it seems to work best when others in your life are cooperative and accepting. I find independent people are more interesting.
