Someone Left My Coat Out in the Rain

And that would be me!!!

I thought about it in the night as I heard the rain begin. Heavy on my tin roof. So, from deep in my bed I did a quick mental inventory of the pockets. Then turned over and went back to sleep.

I saw myself take it off when I got warm doing afternoon chores last night and drape it over a bucket outside the barn and thought to myself. This is a bad idea. You will forget that for sure.

Ah well. Right?

We have thunder and lightning! In February no less. But there you are. I am glad I did not get around to mopping the floors yesterday.

Today will be a muddy mess. Still looking for a friend for Quacker.

Blast from the past. Marcel and Quacker.

It must be ten years ago.

Look what I found in my pencil case. After it had been through security four times. One of these things is not like the other.

Old pocket knife

Do you see it? One of my pocket knives. It is very old. And one of my favourites for a pocket. (Or a pencil case for sharpening pencils) But still, not meant to be in the cabin of a plane🤭.

In TKG Take Ten I am beginning to name the birds we are hearing. Many of you are so much better at American birds than me so let me know if you hear one I miss! We will start getting migratory birds soon. Not today though. Any self respecting birds of a feather will stay out of this weather.

Good morning!

Though this video got over a thousand hits. No duck offers. But I have to start somewhere – right?

Have a great day!

Pop in to the evening edition of the kitchens garden at TKG Take Ten. I will see you there later on, to lean on the gate with me and listen to the sounds of the birds in the trees on the farm.

  1. I have a 2″ long Swiss army penknife that has a tiny blade, scissors, nailfile, screwdriver, toothpick and tweezers. It’s my second; the first was confiscated in Barcelona, and I’ve since been careful to remove the replacement from my keyring every time I fly.
