Wind and Rain, No Pictures Make

It is early morning here on the plains. And while a lot of Illinois got wild weather overnight all we have here at the farm is wind and cold.

No-one was particularly disappointed. About the lack of wild weather.

And someone is still on a diet.

Both these someone’s actually.

Talking of diets. My daughter just sent me this. She flew into New Zealand while I slept here in Illinois and knowing how much I miss Vogels bread and New Zealand butter she sent me a picture of the makings of their breakfast.

Chip off the old block that kid.

So we have a cold day ahead. Then another steady warm up.

Yesterday’s sunrise.

Yesterday’s sunrise on TKG Take Ten was so beautiful and so restful – I sent it out yesterday evening (at 5 central as usual) but made it free for everyone. If you are unable to upgrade to The Tenners to get TKG Take Ten 5 times a week then please SHARE with someone who needs 10 minutes of peace. ( I think we all do) And play this one while you are writing your list for today. It is lilting with the gentle sounds of early morning.

I was able to record this evenings Take Ten before the winds blew up thankfully. But let’s see what happens today! Cold and wind just do not photograph well. But you never know.

Good morning. The rocking chair, just like the hole through the wall – is a game changer. We are going to see the farm from a new perspective now that I sit down in the late afternoons! Sometimes.

Take care and Talk soon.

Comment and I will use the link from your comment to come and visit you.

Have a good one.

  1. So glad the rain, and/or snow did not settle on the farm. Jude’s side-eye says a lot about so many things… those pigs can always make me smile.

  2. We have a high wind watch here from 1pm till 1 am & me here under all these trees, which I hope will remain upstanding. And I must struggle out mid afternoon to the dentist – uggghhh!

  3. That’s a beautiful sunrise. I’m rarely up to see them and due to trees often can’t photograph a pretty sunset. So, I’m always eager to enjoy photos others share! Love the side eye from that pig. Diet, pfftt!

  4. We had wind and now cold. It did rain a tiny bit overnight and I saw a couple flashes of lightning but the thunder was distant. Still windy today. The robin I saw the other day might be wishing he’d waited to come north.
