But It is my Duty to Escape! 🐖

This is not Colditz. Yet these piggies feel duty bound to attempt an escape at every moment.

Today I will work on their backyard. They are very forceful and use their bodies as battering rams to get where they want to be which is OUT then just as forcefully back IN. Anywhere that there is food.

But they are just so sweet. And naughty. And once the meat chickens and the plonkers have left then they can be out a bit more. But I would rather they stayed put!

This is where your weekends photographs are.

It takes me the whole weekend to write the newsletter in and around the farming chores and I really enjoy it – we have THREE videos this time.

Your TKG Newsletter.

The colours on the farm are changing.

Still no rain though.

The corn is due to be harvested this week (hopefully).

Four of the turkeys are up for sale. We will see how that goes. I will keep the big silver Tom and the white and black female. The Spanish black are the most aggressive to my other chickens so let’s hope just two are more manageable.

Plus six huge poopy turkeys roosting on my porch at night is not sustainable.

Mistakes are ok. We can live with mistakes. As long as we are brave enough to put up our hands and OWN that mistake. If we can’t own our mistake we cannot fix it.

And I will fix this. This week.

Here is my favorite video from the weekend.

This video has already garnered 739 views on UTube. Lots of people liking the simple things in life!

Maybe Jude is a bit more than 400 pounds though?

Have a lovely day!

  1. .Funny, greedy little escapologists. Just like little children, when they are in they want to be out and vice versa. Glad to hear that things SHOULD get a little easier with the departure of some of your stock, good luck with the sales and moving on. Amazing that Jude and Freebie still sit on command.

  2. Good morning Ceci…….I love it when you post little farm tidbits also with words of wisdom…..which you often do! “Own your own mistakes”. What a concept in this world of ours when it seems as though everyone wants to “pass the buck” to someone else.

    Oh well….so it goes.

  3. I never knew that pigs would sit on command myself, but what do I know the only pig friend I have is WaiWai and he lives on the other side of the world. Thanks, as always for sharing your life with us
