That is the only word I have for the news this morning.

Bleak.
One man’s meat is another man’s poison. This feels very true this morning, too. I get that we cannot possibly all agree. Politics is super charged with emotion here. Dangerous territory. I know.
I keep taking my hands off the keyboard to think but it may take a few days before my natural optimism returns this time.

Skies help.
Go HERE for some quiet time with the chickens.
TKG Take Ten is free to all for this month. Sign up for bi-weekly farmy videos until December.
I am going to have to spend some solid time thinking about how to live here in the USA, now. In rural Illinois. As an immigrant. And as a woman. And as an environmentalist.
I have my birthday in Melbourne, Australia, in December to look forward to. It will be good to spend some real life time with like minded people. And a new garden there to put in.
Much love my American friends. Take care my European and Australasian friends.
My words will be back tomorrow. But today (and I know this is a selfish thought) but today I cannot get past the very real fact that the majority of American people (including those very close to me) voted against everything I believe in. Truth being the first to fall.
Talk soon.
Celi

It surprised me …and it’s looking grey and cold here too! On the bright side, blink 3 or 4 ties and 4 years will have passed.
I think I am in actual shock. But you are right – only four years to go. Though they are pretty important years for me. Good morning Mad!
You don’t have to talk to him and you are surrounded by lovely animals 😉
It may be small comfort to know you are not alone in your bleakness. Today I wear black.
Mourning. Yes- that makes sense. Good morning, Sandy.
Appropriate title this morning C- for so many of us but to be surrounded by such difference has to feel awful. Know you are not alone and those of us who feel the same are surrounding you from afar.
I am trying hard to find optimism today as well and it’s not coming. My only consolation is that half of the country is like minded, and I live sheltered in a state with many more than that. It’s a dark day, and I feel sorry for many of the people who voted for him because they did so out of fear.
Ah Celi, I hadn’t heard and my gut dropped like a rock as I read your words. Apparently greed has trumped the moral compass…
My heart goes out to all like-minded people this morning.
🤮🤮🤮
Well said Andy 🙂
I have no words this morning either!!
I know you know this but it bears repeating – when the bigger picture is too terrible to bear, the smallest moments are there for you. May the skies and the animals and your words all carry you through – we are here with you and for you. Sending hugs.
This is a terrific way of looking at things – thank you!
Good morning, Cecilia. Feel the same way. Except almost all the Italians I stumble into on any given day agree with me…that he is an awful man. Europeans remember, you see, what happens with awful men like that in power. Sigh. Hang in there my friend. We are all hanging in there together.
Russia. China. USA – have similar despot leaders now. This worries me a lot.
Sending my love from Canada. Time …
The next four years. That’s a lot of time.
Yes. Four years seems like a long time. And yet it seems like such a short time since B/H won. Loved her speech this afternoon. And her encouragement to everyone to keep living our lives with kindness and determination.
I too, am struggling to find my balance again after this and to figure out how to live within this new world
Balance – yes that is it. We have been tipped sideways. We will help each other.
we will right the ship in unity and get our sea legs once more
Yes, the news is very bleak this morning. Going to have to sit with this awhile. Sue S
That is the only way I think. Go quiet. And make a plan.
The world is too much right now everywhere and everything feels too much.
You can say that here. We all understand. The women lost. That is a terrible thing.
So bleak. Hard to concentrate. I cannot fathom how millions of Americans voted for him. I’m thankful to live in a dedicated blue state. But even here, people voted for him. I think we are all going to be grieving for awhile–but then it is time to roll up our sleeves and get to work. We can’t let this threat to our democracy stand.
Thank you Celi, for every day- including this one- th
