So now for something completely different. We will go back to the post I was collating when we were so RUDELY interrupted by men with guns. Yesterday in the morning there was a snow man with a TopKnot sleeping on the roof of the barn!
This is one of Houdini’s chickens, growing up.
The snow is melting.
This guy is the barn doorman apparently.

Hairy McLairy wants you to see his lovely hair do. He is growing a dread. As you can see he is very proud. He thinks he will look grand with dreads.
Daisy is not in the mood for a chat.
Yes Hairy honey, we saw your DO it is lovely.

Daisy will allow a shot of the curve of her beautiful pregnant belly and that is all. She is feeling antisocial after being driven indoors by mean men with guns shooting along the creek.
There now everything is alright. It is just above freezing this morning and windy. But the sky is clear so far. So this will be the last of the snow for the meantime.
Good morning.

Good morning to you, Celi! I hope everyone has a peaceful day on the farm after yesterday’s disturbance.
I am sure we will. good morning! Hope you have a great day in the halls of academia! c
I think the barn doorman is my favourite today. He’s a beauty.
It was cold yesterday and he literally sat on that straw bale most of the day. I think he is the odd one out. he does not have a brood! c
Maybe he’s a teacher. My son is a teacher, and he says he doesn’t need to have kids – he has 36 of them.
Maybe he is!! c
great photos. so sorry about your run in yesterday. hunters can be awful! men with guns!
I am sure they got the message. It is all quiet now anyway.. have a great day! c
Oh Dog! Hairy McNairy seems to be doing OK after losing his funky horn.
Maybe that is why he is growing his hair out, to cover the scar (laughter) c
Hairy McLairy’s a Rastafarian? I never would have guessed. So glad to see things returning to the bucolic idyll we have all come to know and thoroughly enjoy. Good morning to you, too!
That Hairy MaClairy, he is something else. And I swear he was posing!! c
This is all lovely…but somehow I still feel nervous about the men toting weapons. Hm.
it is looking to be a lovely day today! it will be fine.. c
Warmer weather, above freezing, was wonderful this weekend, wasn’t it? We actually got out into the yard and did some work. It was great! Today will be the warmest, and then tomorrow we are plunged into the deep freeze again. 😦
I’m with Misk! That Barn Doorman is quite charming with his comb all backlit by the sun! ~ Lynda
Morning Lynda, yes to the warm weather. Bet you know what i am going to be doing now that there is a wee thaw! c
Fortifying fences, scouting for poachers, replacing that shot window, taking more pictures? 😉
Scooping!!! The Pooping! You knew that! c
What a beautiful morning! Hairy is looking quite handsome with his new do. 😉
I Know, he thinks he is quite the stud! c
Relative calm is restored – hope all the beasties were ok too, they´re very sensitive (but I don´t need to tell you that!). Love Hairy´s “do”, most fetching indeed.
All good. the only ones who were really bothered were the sheep I think, still no harm done! c
Oh, I’m so glad we’re back to normal farmy pictures and animaleries.
yes, it is a relief to be back in the barn isn’t it.. c
Just love that last photograph! What a great shot.
Thank you.. have a lovely morning wazeau.. c
I love stepping into your world. It always makes me smile and feel so good. I’m so thankful you share these beautiful shots with all of us, Cecilia. Happy week ahead for you!
I hope you have a great week also. Might even be a little warmer for a few days so i hear!! c
Snickering over a rasta sheep in the making and love the chicken in the snow. Do post those signs just so that even if (heavens forbid) they ignore them, you will have legal recourse for if those rotters come hunting on your land. t
You are very right Miss T, without the official signs i have no recourse! yes Hairy is a rasta this week! c
Even though I do not like chickens (mean, pecking rooster during my childhood), I have to say that the doorman image is truly a lovely, well-composed, wonderfully-lit, tell-a-story photo.
I always appreciate farm reports. Thanks for yours. A wonderful way to begin my Monday.
Thank you Audrey, have a good Monday! c
I think Hairy should have a Mohican, and maybe a tatoo or three, so that he can front up the guys with guns.
Brilliant – that sounds like a great idea!
I love the chicken on the roof 😉
ha ha ha ..I must say Mad that your idea to down size my pics has made the world of difference! So much faster to load! Thank you for that advice. c
That is a stunning idea Roger. Hairy MaClairy is a good 300 pounds. He could pack a good wallop! c
