So now for something completely different. We will go back to the post I was collating when we were so RUDELY interrupted by men with guns. Yesterday in the morning there was a snow man with a TopKnot sleeping on the roof of the barn!
This is one of Houdini’s chickens, growing up.
The snow is melting.
This guy is the barn doorman apparently.

Hairy McLairy wants you to see his lovely hair do. He is growing a dread. As you can see he is very proud. He thinks he will look grand with dreads.
Daisy is not in the mood for a chat.
Yes Hairy honey, we saw your DO it is lovely.

Daisy will allow a shot of the curve of her beautiful pregnant belly and that is all. She is feeling antisocial after being driven indoors by mean men with guns shooting along the creek.
There now everything is alright. It is just above freezing this morning and windy. But the sky is clear so far. So this will be the last of the snow for the meantime.
Good morning.

Great photos. Glad the snow is melting!
I think it will be all gone today greg, we have warmer windy day today.. c
Beautiful photos…good to know your temps are moderating a bit.
What do you do with Hairy’s fleece when you shear him?
Hairy is a Dorset and well fed, he has a magnificent fleece. Last year i put it in a bag and it is waiting for me to get a spinning wheel. This year maybe i will sell it if i can find someone who wants it. He gets shorn in the spring.. c
Lovely to see you back to normal after your scare. Bullies like that make my blood boil – obviously yours & Ton Ton’s too. Sometimes I despair with Homo Sapiens.
Christine
Yup. Back to normal! Hope it is quiet over at your place too christine.. c
Hello baby chicken!
(laughter).. c
Nice to see everyone enjoying a sunny morning except for Daisy of course and she is allowed!
Yes.. as Daisy keeps reminding me She is Special!! c
Love Hairy’s new look with the dred…it suits him! 🙂
He is funny with his dreaded dreds! c
There, my farm fix is complete – now I can get on with my day, starting with a trip to town for groceries before our forecasted snowfall. If it comes it will be our first this winter. (Yes, my part of Canada is very like New Zealand! Don’t tell anyone…it’s a secret. Well Hairy with the grand do can know. He may want to visit some of the Ewes around here. They’d go mad over his one dread. :))
Ah, I have been telling john that we have been having a NZ winter. Though I still like the snow. take care.. c
My son is 6’4″ with dreadlocks all the way to his bum. Perhaps I could send some instructions to Hairy?
That is a long Do your son has. Mercy. I am sure Hairy would be grateful for the attention. c
Love these photos!! So great!
Thank you katherine! c
I’m glad that things have quietened down again after that unwelcome intrusion, and that you are having a moment of [comparative] warmth.
comparative indeed.. and yes i worked for hours out in the yards today,, it was lovely! c
Aw! Daisy’s not in the mood for a chat.
i love it when she is cranky like that! c
Glad the weather appears to be breaking. Love the shot of chicken in snow. And Hairy’s pride with the hairdo
She is cute that littel chicken, that wee flock is quite tame too which is unusual in a barn flock! c
Awww Daisy is pregnant.. she is still beautiful. And look at Hairy.. I think he would look amazing in dreads.. like the Bob Marley of Sheep. I can dig it 🙂
Daisy must be about 5 months now, maybe 6 I had better check the calender and report back!! c
Love the hair do’s on your sheep! What breed are they? Hairy has such a kind eye. I love going on a walkabout, especially with such lovely animals and photos.
Hairy MaClairy is a Dorset and the most docile of the sheep. He is from a wee flock about 30 miles away. c
Hairy Maclairy is my little boy’s favorite. He is sitting next to me and He won’t allow me to scroll down to write the comment! he wants to see the maaaa
