I am a little late this morning because I thought we could watch the sunrise together. So I fed the animals early and had the camera out for sunrise. In the end I could not even feel my finger press the button to release the shutter. As you can see we had a wee bit of snow last night, then wind, so the world is crunchy with fresh frozen icy snow. Now it is time for my coffee and hot refried mashed potatoes, with a fresh egg for breakfast.
Good morning everyone!

And a very good morning to you Mrs.
Stay warm, and I hope that your weekend is good to you and your shutter finger. xx
Sometimes when taking photos in the cold i forget and stay out too long, but it was ok this morning. Good morning! c
I admire your resolve to watch the sunrise under freezing conditions… anything below 15 C feels freezing to me, and there’s NO WAY I would try to do it… 😉
beautiful photos, I hope your breakfast gave you the warmth you deserve…
Have a great weekend!
I have not even looked at the temp this morning Sally, it is just cold, definitely below freezing but SUNNY now! that is the bit I like! c
It must be lurve!
I love those pink tinted iced trimmings on those bare branches.
That delicious sunrise, we have not had a decent sunrise in days so the colour was irresistible.. thanks pseu c
And good morning to you C. Beautiful poetry well worth the cold fingers!
I don’t write poems, my camera does!! c
Now that’s dedication- and my evening is that much prettier for it. Thanks for braving the cold a little longer to share it with us.
morning/evening siobhan!.. c
Good morning! I hope you have a wonderful day!
You too Rumpy and all your furry friends! c
Very pretty!
The light was lovely this morning.. c
Bonjour, C, lovely photos – worth the cold fingers. I just made your mum’s lemon curd (and 15 jars of 3 fruit marmalade) and it is yummy with a toasted teacake. Thank you for the recipe.
Bonjour viv, how wonderful that you made the lemon curd, my sister in NZ was doing the exact same thing yesterday too, not the marmalade though and that 3 fruit marmalade is divine, i just love mine! c
I love the little drops of ice on the trees 😉
me too.. afternoon Mad! c
Yes, it was surprisingly cold this morning, wasn’t it? How we could be surprised that it’s cold on a late January morning proves just how screwy this Winter has been. I was just in the yard talking with a neighbor and it seems warmer in the Sun than it actually is. Cold or not, it is late January and Spring is coming! Whoopie!
especially after yesterday, yesterday was an amazing day! And yes. spring is getting closer and closer every day.. c
A very pretty sunrise showing through those crystals of ice. Good morning to you and stay warm!
Good morning betsy.. c
Criminey, how far north of us are you? It looks like the tundra, wait is that south, oh now my brain’s frozen!
if you were living in NZ it would be colder to the south!! c
Do you have gloves with the finger tips snipped off them? That helps some for shooting in the winter. Sunny here in southeastern Minnesota, too.
I was wearing my gloves, with the tips IN! and still cold, but sunny .. sun is good! c
So beautiful… Mmmmm…. ahhhhh….. brrrrr! 🙂
could not have said it better myself Rachel. c
When we went snow tubing last year my iPhone froze up. Not matter how hard I tried, it simply would NOT take a picture. (I think it was jealous).
Lovely sunrise – I know those icy branches too well. Though it’s been so warm here the past week, the snow is melting away. WOO!
Do you think that was because your fingers were too cold, that is why i cannot have one here in the barn, they are heat activated! Evidently there are special gloves for this problem.. go figure! I love this weather for images! actually i love ALL weather for images! c
