Yesterday I gave my Old Camera a good talking to about sustainable farming and how every one must pull his weight and be useful on the farmy. How we are in a cycle of give and take and cameras have to give, give, give. I told him that he is an important camera because he carries your eyes in his lens and without his help, all of you, my readers, are blind. Old Camera has relented and promised to Carry On.
So, yesterday morning the Old Camera and I went out into the freezing fog. Freezing Fog is an insidious mist that reaches out its gentle wistful misty fingers and coats everything with ice. It looks so pretty but it carries a brittle melancholy that is contagious.
So to cheer Old Camera up I am planning a Giveaway of a signed mounted 8×10 Print or a package of Postcards. Chosen by you all from the Kitchen’s Garden Blog. I am desperately trying to talk Daisy OUT of doing the signing but you know how she is! Everything is about Daisy! Because she is the pregnant cow!
So on the day after we reach the 40,000th HIT I will announce the Giveaway. And on that day you can make a comment either here or on the Facebook page letting me know which pictures you would choose. I am giving you time to prepare, because I would love for you to tell me which image you liked the most.

You don’t have to give me numbers and dates. Though that would be very useful. Just describing a shot and the season, will often lead me to it. Now I know that you all cannot win. The winners will be randomly chosen from the PomPom Hattie. But every comment will count because I will note and collate the info from your choices for future reference. We might make a calender for 2013. Plus of course your choices will help me choose the Postcard Collection.
And Old Camera and I would love to know what images attract you.
I am not sure whether to offer a print or a collection of postcards for a Giveaway. So maybe today you can help me with that decision.
SO: Do NOT choose the images yet. This will be done when you hit 40,000 clicks. For now just think about it and help me decide whether to offer a print or a wee collection of old fashioned postcards-the type you can put a stamp on and send.
The choice of image will be hard as you have from July 2011 to make your selection. Keep in mind that not all photos are printable, due to clarity, or size issues. But that is OK we can sort all that out later. The good news is that the image on a web page is at half strength, so a printed image will be so much better!
I hope you like this idea because I am feeling excited about it!
We have the fog again this morning but it is not freezing, just damp. TonTon is grateful. He hates it when the hairs in his ears gets frozen!
Good morning!
c
PS. Of Course I will send the package anywhere in the world – As long as you have a Mail service!! c

Morning Linda, poor old TonTon, he always ends up looking like such a dolt! c
How exciting! And thanks, you gave me an idea. Ya think Daisy would like to be a guest on my blog? We’d love to learn about sustainable farming and her part in the mix.
Oh I am sure Daisy would just Love that. What a fantastic idea. Rumpy, tell your human to send me an email and I will ask daisy what she thinks!.. c
I’ll do that tomorrow! Thanks!
what a great idea! i love post card, cards and calendars. your photos are so beautiful anything would work!
I will tick all the columns for you then Jaz!! Have a great day.. c
Morning C,
What a great idea for a give away. I love the idea of postcards. I wouldn’t send them to anyone, probably frame and hang them.
Morning Latrice. We will have to choose some really good ones then! c
I’m excited to see the postcards! I bet they look beautiful.
I am sure it will work out! Thank you Yummy! c
Poor TonTon! Such lovely photos, C – I particularly like the first one.
Stay warm!
Thank you, have a great day! c
What a fabulous idea. As usual! I think the crew are all right: postcards allow more choices!! And there’s such a wealth from which to select that choosing just one would verge on the impossible.
TonTon is looking particularly handsome today, frosty ears and all.
But as for sheer brilliant photography, that first shot is straight-up a spectacular, prizewinning beauty in my book. Couldn’t be better in any way. LOVE it.
brrr! that frost looks cold…but also quite beautiful!
Oh well you know we’d love a big pack of TonTon and rooster post cards. They’re all great. This is such a thoughtful idea for a giveaway and so personal! Great shots as always.
Great idea for a give away… even a print of TonTon’s poor frozen ear hairs would be lovely 🙂
Thanks for the facebook link back too… very kind C.

It was a lovely recipe, made me long for those summer tomatoes! c
Postcards are a wonderful idea, but I think that I would personally like a print of one of your fabulous pictures that I can frame, hang, gaze at and dream into. The calender idea of pictures of old barns is a great idea too! Di
Thanks Diane. hope youor pigs are staying put today! c
The pigs are quite happy now in their enlarged electric fence area. Actually, Bernadette is in heat!!! So that’s something interesting! We won’t breed her this first time. We are still looking for a Gloucestershire Old Spot boar, but are having big trouble finding one. It seems these heritage breeds are indeed very rare!
I am going to AI when I get the pig, I don’t have enough room for a Boar, then I will buy the little spermies. They have a shelf life of a week but cannot be frozen like cow sperm.. this is my plan anyway! c
A.I. is a great idea! My John checked into it, but since the sperm is from the heritage English breed it had to be shipped from England and was $700 a ‘straw’….outrageously expensive!!! So that is why we are looking for a boar in the US, hopefully not too far from us. We really didn’t want a boar full time on the farm, as they are often up to no good, but sadly, we don’t have many options. Di
What a great idea, Celi! With so many great shots to choose from, this won’t be easy, that’s for sure. Glad you camera was just taking the day off. Let’s hope it doesn’t need another one for some time. Really can’t blame it, though. Although warmer, this damp weather is hardly a motivator.
the world has gone sepia! c
Oh, his ears are cold!! I hate it when that happens!! I’ll tell you todays pics are just stunning. You keep getting better and better every day!! I’m definitely loving this fog!!
The fog makes everything so surreal.. lovely to see you.. c
