“Don’t be scared. They said I could bring you out here. It will be fine. I promise. “
“It’s Ok they won’t hurt you. They are herbivores. (cattie laughter) See thats Queenie.”
“What have you got out there Mary’s Cat?”
“What is it?” says Queenie Wineti.
“It’s a dog” says Marys Cat.
“Sure doesn’t look like a dog.” says Queenie.

“You smell like a dog but you growl like a girl. I think I would like to have your tail. It’s quite the tail”.
“Did you see that? That little fluff growled at me. It is not even as big as my head and it growled at me!”
“Give it time. He is a visitor. They told me to take him outside to play, so why don’t you say hullo to his face instead of his bottom. That might work.”
“Oh yeah, that’s better. Hey Daisy you wanna come see the visitor! He smells funny but he seems OK.”
“That is the Matriarch’s dog. Be nice. He’s only little.”
Hairy MacLairy thinks we should introduce the visitor to Moaning Mia. She likes to play.
“I hate cats!” says Moaning Mia, “they whine all the time. Get this cat out of here!”
“Mia listen to your Mama. That is not a cat that is a dog. It is the Matriarchs dog. He visits sometimes. Be nice. And wipe that hay off your face. You are a mess!”
“Oh, Maa Maa! Now he won’t even talk to me. His little pointy nose is all out of joint since we called him a cat!”
“Kids! …. Queenie Wineti tell Mary’s Cat to take him back, he is going to get himself into trouble out there.”
“You heard Hairy MacLairy. Better take him back to the Porch. Little Dogs should probably stay on Porches.”
“Did you Hear That?”
“What! I hear nothing.”
“Exactly. It has gone too quiet. Didn’t you tell them to go outside and play? OKAY. I’ll go. It’s my turn anyway. Can’t a cat get five minutes to sit and watch the snow melt. All I wanted was five minutes peace.”

Good morning. That just kept coming together, getting longer and longer but I hope you will forgive me. Not much light yesterday but the animals were having fun. As you know my challenge is that all the shots have to be within a day and published the next day. I thought this one might be nice for you to read aloud to the little kids in the family. So I made the dialogue child friendly. That Mary’s Cat! He is always right in the middle of everything!
It looks like we are going to be in the 40’s and wet today with some sun later for more photographs. Fantastic!
Dawn is grey. Time for me to suit up and get out to the barn. By the way Daisy’s patches are already starting to fill in, she is loving the brushing.
Good Morning!

Good Morning.
LOVED this post Celi – the look on that pups face in the first two pics is just priceless!
🙂 Mandy
He has quite the look doesn’t he.. c
I am laughing so hard! I wish I’d had my camera the first time my father’s little mop-dog met the cows…he was a city dog before Dad retired and moved back to Arkansas. The farm dogs (also small) looked at him like he was crazy. My daughter said, “Aw! He’s the awkward kid on the playground”
Exactly, he really does not belong out there in all the muck!! But he loves it, he thinks he is a farm dog on the inside! c
Cute post, Celi, but I can’t keep all your cats straight. Are those big tigers TWINS? At some point I’d like a re-introduction to all the cats!
Yes. They are identical except one is slightly bigger and friendlier. They are Thing One and Thing Two. The White Cat is a Himalayan that technically belongs to John’s daughter. And of course you know Mary’s Cat. But what a good idea. Maybe one day I should do an introductions page with everyone and their names and profiles.. (laughter) we could call it the Farmy Facebook page, with their status and everything! Have a great day at the university today.. c
Quite entertaining. Now, this has nothing to do with the story, but I noticed a lovely planter with cherubs on your porch. What’s the history behind this lovely art piece, which I so admire?
Johns father made it, Isn’t it great. It is SO HEAVY! In the summer it has a pot of geraniums in it! That porch out the front gets very hot! c
Morning C,
This post was a great day to start my day. Thanks.
Morning LaTrice, hope you have a great day planned! c
Now then, Celia – this post would make a lovely little book, all by itself! I would buy it to keep – blow the grandchildren…
(laughter) .. And these are the kids of books i think i can print without a publisher. As it is all about the images really! That little Queenie is cute in this set! c
Good Morning Celi. Thanks for sharing the cats. We love them, yet miss them as we have decided that we shouldn’t have them due to my wife’s allergies … but we want them. Love the one with the cow sniffing.
I remember you saying that you could not have cats anymore, Mine live outside for the same reason. Mostly anyway, they do sneak in! c
Good morning! Love seeing the interaction between all your animals, you capture it so well!
It was a fun shoot, but Hairy kept sneaking up on me so i was literally on my toes the whole time! c
It’s lovely to see the animals interacting in such a friendly fashion. As always lovely images.
Mia was a lark! She chased that little dog right out after their pause!
No kiddies here, just two grown ups with a childlike sense of humour – loved it! Loved those shots of the three cats on the chair…they look like a panel of jurors 😉
They were so funny .. all sat cuddled up together watching the world go past!! c
I am smiling ear to ear; what a delightful story. Isn’t is great the way you put the dialogue in so that the animals seem to speaking!
Delightful. Is there no direction your talents can’t take you?
Ronnie
They were funny.. Hope you are having a good day ronnie! c
Love seeing Moaning Mia chasing the dog… I think it would give me a heart attack if Mona came at me like that!! Poor little pups heart was probably popping out of his chest!!
She thunders about that little sheep! c
Good morning Cecilia! If only adults could interact so well! That little dog looks like it has a bit of Chihauhua in it….the growl made me think of that breed. How can you not smile and enjoy your days with all these wonderful personalities surrounding you!
He is a Papillion, such a posh little lap dog! c
Love the accent! Enjoyed your interview. It was very posh. All joy today Lady C. HF
Thank you HF,. don’t you just love that word POSH! c
