When I went to check the piggies in the morning yesterday they were nowhere to be found. Then I heard a grunt and a head popped up from below the straw. I have been saving old hay and straw for months now for their bedding and it had ended up ridiculously deep, about four foot deep. So they launched themselves into the straw and old hay like a torpedo and slept completely covered.
I wonder where they got this as I bought them from a farmer who has many hogs and certainly does not give each pig a four foot deep bed. When I went to check them last night all I could see was a brown snout and a black snout poking up like periscopes up from the bedding.
They have discovered their new playground that only has a swimming pool yet.
TonTon almost had a nervous break down when he saw one of the Plonkers carry around a STICK.
But when he saw them digging up the concrete, he knew he was safe.
With that behaviour he knew they would be in trouble soon. And anyway Sheila is not here yet and she is Our Pig.

Mama is just grateful that she was able to be outside with her brood all day. There are aliens making strange grunty noises in the barn.
As an interesting aside. I have Minty on the frequent, sip only, diet that we discussed the day she got the bloat ,and yesterday she was observed sneaking a quick sip from the Mama Milkbar on more than one occassion! So all is not lost. As long as we keep up the feed to Mama she may raise them all. Now that would be a joy! Mothers milk is always the best milk.
Good morning

I knew it!! Those little piglets are as smart as the whip of their little tails! They don’t need to be told how to have a good time, do they? Sooo glad Minty is finding Mama’s milk.. I agree, it’s the best stuff for a baby!!
I love the bit about Minty sneaking a feed from Mama. What unexpected delight you have in every day.
Morning! What are the piggies digging for under the cement?
soil, they get minerals from soil.. this is why they need to root. ! but they are not waiting for their pasture days I guess! c
They eat the soil?
not by the mouthful, but by grubbing about in it they ingest some of the minerals that they need.. c
Sweet little piggies! SO luck to be here!
Mothers milk is always the best! Thanks once again for a delightful read!!
Oh! Cute babies 😉
Aw, poor TonTon worrying about the sticks. And, I can only imagine how fun it was for the piggies to jump into four feet of hay!
