Welcome to my Long Life of glorious Littleness

Sometimes I think we worry too much. That our lives are too small and won’t amount to much. When they already have mounted up.  And the weight of my life in gold would be too heavy to carry anyway. If we worry too much we will forget how glorious our little lives are.

Ithink it is ok to have a lovely little life, with small movements and everyday things.

Just because our lives are little does not make them any less brilliant or colourful or dramatic or worthy.

Nobody knows me but you. I have no books in print or on coffee tables. Or art hanging in galleries, and names in lights.  Though once I almost did.

I have weeds in my dried up garden.  And clothes still hanging on the line from yesterday.  You might have dishes in the sink from last night and problems with leaks, but that does not make you or I any less clever.  Or good.  Or golden.

Sometimes we are just a little cow, with no particular place to go.

Sometimes we confuse toothpicks with cigars.

And only have one or maybe two friends, who we forget to appreciate.

Sometimes a wee pat on the shoulder is all we will feel that day.  Just a little pat.

And then the night time comes and still nothing much has happened, but we are all fed, and we are all warm and we have seen moments of true beauty in our little day, if our eyes are open.  And there is more to come.

I am so glad you are in my glorious little life with me.  Because little is loaded with consequence and reward. Every chook step leads us to another one. Then another step and another. This is why you and I like to walk barefoot. Then we can feel the consequences of our steps.  We can discover the sparkling  jewels in our days. Wake up! No sleeping on your little feet. Our little lives need living. Our little lives are good.

Good morning.   Have a lovely little day!

  1. Walking barefoot, so we can feel the consequences of our steps….how utterly perfect.
Kind of like your Golden Photos from today…
Enjoy your small, beautiful moments, C. We small-lived folks are what make up the world. 🙂

  2. Good Morning Celie:
Thank you — for reminding me of the beauty in my little life. I needed that this morning !

  3. Lovely, uplifting words and images. I think I may have a permanent love of your rooster photos, but that milk is a pretty sight too. Thanks for giving me something to smile about in this heat!

  4. Miss C, with a heart as big and open and giving as yours, nothing you do could ever be small. Thank you, for everything that you share with us. Not least for the photos of the most beautiful calf ever to smoke a toothpick.

  5. Your pictures are beautiful today, and the sentiment is perfect. I think your blog has become your own personal art gallery and book. That’s how I think of mine – a living scrapbook of our life and a good way to record a few recipes too.

  6. My teacher likes to say, “Your life is huge.” What she means is, if you are awake to it even a day is large, full of beautiful, lively moments, like those that you capture with your camera and your words everyday. You will have books and shows if you want them — look at how your blog started and how it has grown, how many people you have met, how many of us jumped to buy postcards.
