When I am at the hairdressers, which I have to admit is not often enough, they have a big TV showing soap operas. As I only see them once every two months or so it seems to me that they move about as fast as the farmy. The story line is easy to pick up after an absence. Very little happens.
Each day unfolds the same, though the lighting may be different. I think that the characters on the farmy are a little more unpredictable than the soap opera people. And there is no weather in a Soap Opera and we are ALL weathers.
The characters are the same every day. The fans get a little mobby sometimes and veryone is growing older, ever so slowly, right in front of our Camera eyes.
Camera (who is behaving very well since being reunited with her favourite lens) visits her Soap Opera every day and wonders who is writing the script. There is a total lack of action during the current season. Maybe it should be called ‘Mud Song’ instead of Soap Opera.

And our old couples. But to tell the truth it is a Sleepy Soap Opera without Soap or the Opera. Maybe it is ‘As Slow As Grass Growing Opera’. I think you could think of a better one. It might be too early for my slow-as brain.
Good morning. Today I am going to mow for the compost heap down the back. I use the tractor to transport all the clippings. Then I will clear out two of the dry barn pens and lime their floors in preparation for winter and add all that to the compost heap as well. I layer brown and green so it gets nice and hot. So there is a bit of work ahead of me today.
Mama’s fleece was sent to the mill to be fluffed up into Candy Floss That Crazy Sheep Lady knows an awful lot about this process so zap over and see the pictures she took for us. It really is a fascinating read, and Mama’s fleece looks stunning.
I hope you are going to have a lovely day.

Can you only imagine if you knew what they were thinking?!?
Ah, the blessing of slowness, of regularity, and the drama of nature. I feel I’m getting to know the farmy better and better, and yet I will never know it all.
‘As the farmy turns’: that somehow seems more than alright and comfortable and relaxing . . .and real . . . how can anyone sit down and waste their life and actually and seriously watch the other ridiculousness which costs millions to make for the sake of advertisement companies for the sake of products we won’t buy anyway . . .?
Dear Celi, I’ve missed your smiling face and your blog that makes me smile. The kitchen/family room has been painted with a horrible smelling sealer in preparation for new flooring. For two days the computer was out of reach behind furniture and goodness knows what else. I’m a happy girl because I had two of your blogs to read. An embarrassment of riches. So I can go to bed happy tonight. And, yes, my bathrobe is a chocolate brown. And I do wear Good Husbands grey work socks. Virginia
What a lovely read C. Hairdresser – what’s that? Since I have decided to stop colouring my hair and try desperately to age gracefully, I no longer see the inside of a hairdresser and the only person who cuts my hair is mom and that only happens every now and again too. Right, now I do hope after reading that useless information, you gonna have a happy day.

Lol. I used to watch a soap opera in college and I can still turn it on (some-teen years later) and jump right in ad though I never missed a beat. I have to say, I do prefer the farmy to the soaps now though. 🙂
we are the ultimate farmy soap.. everything happens so gently.. c
A little lounge near us (which we used to frequent for a quiet bite, just the two of us, imagine!) used to run the old black and white movies.. Casablanca and others. I remember fighting over who could sit to watch and we finally decided we should just sit up at the counter. Even with the din of a restaurant, you sure knew what was going on! I love opera.. adore it.. and have a hard time finding someone to drag with me, lol! xx
I remember taking a whole class of my school children, we sat up in the gods and they were stunned into silence by the opera.. They had never seen anything like that before. c
Well as I’ve never seen you run out of material, I would have to say you have your very own theatre going on there on the prairie, Ms. C!
It’s been a while since I’ve visited, and yes, the farmy is still there! Not much time for TV in general, let alone soap operas, my whole life feels like a soap why should I watch one? Sigh… Been busy with Bake-A-Wish cupcakes this week 🙂 It’s loads of work to decorate them, as I like to be perfect to a fault, it eats up hours upon hours of time though! I know they can look even better if I can manage the time to put towards them. Meanwhile the kids get to eat the frosting and run all over the house! Never a dull moment over here 🙂
