Our walkabout yesterday started on the North side. My favourite view of the barn.
After the milking Daisy and Queenie walk out to their new field.
I let ut the Shush Sisters (this is Charlotte) and we went and visited Hairy MacLairy on the left and Mama on the right. You can see that Hairy has managed to shuck his harness again. I am thinking of renaming him Houdini.
Minty on the left and her sisters Mia and Meadow are in the Rathouse paddock far far away from the ram.
Pania, Tui and The Duke of Kupa are just about to be sprung cleaning up the pig food.
In the evening we do everything all over again.
John came home from work while I was milking and took a shot for you.
The day was once again deeply grey except for that tiny window of light in the late afternoon.
We are taking the pigs into their new winter quarters this morning for a try out. So Eldest son can see his work in action. Then it is onto firewood. As you know we heat with wood gathered from fallen trees. We need to get it all split and into the Wendy House all ready for this winter.
I have just slept in. I can’t remember doing that for a long time. So I am wooshing through these words. It is already dawn. So TonTon and I need to get out there and get busy. Daisy will be waiting.
Have a lovely day! Lets hope for some good autumnal light so I can really put the new camera through it paces.

Sounds like you have kept the Eldest busy….make sure that everything is checked off his to-do list…the week will soon be ending. Darn! Don’t you hate it when they go home..sniff…

I know. sniff sniff.. and today they are doing my road so he cannot get away, we are blocked in. I should txt you actually so you can tell El Postino. c
I really like the last two pictures together 😉
I’m surprised the pigs don’t eat those peacocks for stealing their food!
They would make a tasty feed too, sweetened on grapes!
Aahh my favourite – Farmy walkabout! Just got to love Mr Hairy ;). Laura
Hairy is a right monkey. He always gets his own way that sheep.. c
That grass in the paddocks sure looks good….
I am pleased, we have fodder for a wee while yet, hopefully just enough.. c
Good morning, c., and thank you for the lovely stroll around the farmy. 🙂
Morning Misky, you are very welcome.. c
Lovely to see an action shot of you.
It was a surprise for me too! c
Hello to all the sheep!
I told them and they haloooed back.. c
Your farm is very charming. Lots of moisture there. We are very wet right now also. Not a problem for Terry and I (the beans are harvested and already sold, in our case) but there are those around us still trying to get into the fields to harvest. Rain at harvest time is always a mixed blessing.

It must be such a relief to have gotton the harvest in and sold.. c
A lie in till 6am – that´s the time they go to bed here after the fiesta! Hope it´s been a good day, loved the shot John took of you 🙂
You are SO naughty!! hope your chickens did not miss you too much..c
I can’t get over that your horizon is so …. wide…. As you know, here in NZ (Manawatu) we are surrounded by hills. Your wee farmy feels so exposed. Lovely to have a new camera – what a nice man!
Because i grew up on the beach i am used to a view that goes on for miles and miles but there are certainly no comforting hills around here! c
I mentally pictured the Milking Parlour as smaller! It’s lovely and airy, no wonder Herself doesn’t mind the procedure! And…to be indelicate..there is SOMETHING on Hairy that hangs down. Maybe some daily poofs of red chalk dust in that area would do the same job?
It is a reasonable size. Talking of a reasonable size. Yes our Hairy is well endowed, it is his chest though that will lean on the ewe, there is a paint stuff you can put on but it is not good for the fleece.. we will try again.. c
Glad you were able to sleep in a bit!! I don’t do it often either, but it sure is nice from time to time. Great shots…all of your animals are way too cute. Hope you’re having a wonderful day. x
Morning caroline.. lovely to see you .. i must pop in and see whats cooking! c
I love that TonTon is in nearly every picture. He must adore you to be by your side so faithfully.
He is a good dog. stays close..when he is not herding guineas! c.
Lovely pictures Celi! Thank you!
Morning grammom.. c
You must have needed that extra hour of sleep. I didn’t realize how big Daisy is until seeing her next to you. Now it all makes sense when you mentioned the workmen looking at her and looking at you. Thanks to John for taking the photo!
