Bye Bye beautiful Beach.
My Mahunga.

Remember to take one last look so we can come back again.
Tomorrow I leave very early to drive back to Napier to catch a plane to Auckland. We are on the last leg of our journey. So I have posted this last look at the beach a day ahead of time. Tomorrow will be a busy one.
I will be meeting up with dear old friends in the next few days. There is an excitement running about in my muscles, different emotions are chasing each other through my body, as though I am coming untethered though I cannot place the source or the tether. I feel light, as in not heavy. I am getting closer to going home, there is the long wrench of moving further from my family and then meeting anew some of my best friends – all pricking at my skin from the inside. I am not sure if I want to cry, fall into a great sleep, run up the empty beach laughing into the rising blue wind, or just raise my arms and float up into the hills.
Not long now and we will be back at the farmy. Five more days. Sometimes when I travel so far, I feel like I am a rubber band and I have to be careful not to stretch too far or I will just snap, drop to the ground and never be able to find my way home. Hard to describe. But we are having a wonderful adventure. I have to soak up this sun! They say there is snow in the forecast back in Illinois.
You all have a lovely day tomorrow while I get us to our new destination. I will be back in touch soon.
Love celi

The downside of travelling is that it’s full of goodbyes. Enjoy your last few days; you’re taking a lot of lovely memories home. And thank you for giving them to us, too.
you are very welcome ViV.. next round is in auckland! c
Bon Voyage Celi. XO
Hope you are having some good weather too?.. c
Now fancy finding a tractor at the bach 🙂 Rest up tonight, we will still be here for our next adventure. Laura
The tractor is for pulling his boat down to the beach.. cool aye! c
It would be very hard to leave that beach, Celi. It’s such a beautiful place. You’ve got 5 more days and I’m sure you’ll make the most of them.
A snowstorm is definitely coming our way, but it should only mean a couple inches here in the city. Much more is expected to the North and West of us but I’ve not yet heard of whether your part of Illinois can expect snow or rain.
Soak up as much of that sun and warmth as you can!
It is hard John but I don’t know.. my emotions are all over the place today.. c
Same for us as far as the snow goes, down here by the farmy..they are saying 1-2″ late this afternoon and evening but the wind is going to gust up to 50 mph…..hoping I can make it home! Sunny, cold and calmer tomorrow. Have a great few days Cecilia..see you when you get home.
Hi C!
Oh, I’ve missed almost all your trip…Right now I’m like a “chicken with no head” running in circles, unable to settle and start doing all our Christmas prep.
I love these photos, they transmit peace. Enjoy your last five days in your country and, if we don’t talk again before next week, merry Christmas! 🙂

Wonderful, wonderful place. Why do so many Kiwis leave?
Your visiting is all hellos and goodbyes, and mixed emotions, no wonder you are feeling like you are. Enjoy your time there Celi, you will be back home at the farmy before you know it.
It really does look like paradise. I would love to live close to beaches again, although they were nothing like yours!
I understand how you must feel. It would be so hard to leave such a beautiful place and long time friends and family. Thank you for sharing your trip with us. It has been lovely.
I’ll bet your accent is more New Zealand-ish now than it was a couple of weeks ago; did it feel strange to hear everyone sounding like you again, rather than being the only person speaking in NZ tones?
You must be experiencing so many mixed emotions but I’m glad you’ve had a wonderful holiday. What a precious time. Best wishes for your return to the Farmy xx
What a wonderful tractor! Five days. It just doesn’t seem enough. Safe travels on the last leg of your journey.
Such a beautiful area! And yes, they are saying we are going to get snow 😦
Look at that blue blue sky. I am so jealous. Happy travels to you. BAM
I’m afraid I’d have to be dragged kicking and screaming from that beach! Safe travels.
