Bye Bye beautiful Beach.
My Mahunga.

Remember to take one last look so we can come back again.
Tomorrow I leave very early to drive back to Napier to catch a plane to Auckland. We are on the last leg of our journey. So I have posted this last look at the beach a day ahead of time. Tomorrow will be a busy one.
I will be meeting up with dear old friends in the next few days. There is an excitement running about in my muscles, different emotions are chasing each other through my body, as though I am coming untethered though I cannot place the source or the tether. I feel light, as in not heavy. I am getting closer to going home, there is the long wrench of moving further from my family and then meeting anew some of my best friends – all pricking at my skin from the inside. I am not sure if I want to cry, fall into a great sleep, run up the empty beach laughing into the rising blue wind, or just raise my arms and float up into the hills.
Not long now and we will be back at the farmy. Five more days. Sometimes when I travel so far, I feel like I am a rubber band and I have to be careful not to stretch too far or I will just snap, drop to the ground and never be able to find my way home. Hard to describe. But we are having a wonderful adventure. I have to soak up this sun! They say there is snow in the forecast back in Illinois.
You all have a lovely day tomorrow while I get us to our new destination. I will be back in touch soon.
Love celi

wishing you continued joy and travelin mercies
Wait a minute. Your today is our tomorrow…the world did not end!
The bach looks beautiful, and I”m sure you felt at home with a tractor in place! The beach is heavenly, pure unspoilt NZ, so full of space. What an emotional journey this is, with so much being awakened. I can relate to your rubber band analogy. You will return to the snow with sunshine, sea, and warmth of reunions all simmering inside you, and you make good soup from all of this on your return. Because you are creative by nature and creativity will not be stopped.
And your journey home begins Celi. Click your heels together three times and say …There’s no place like home. There’s no place like home. Home is where the heart is. Yours is a divided heart. A heart so big you’ve shared an amazing journey with us. V.
More smiles, more hugs ahead . . . . but freezing cold or not, will it not be grand to see TonTon’s tail wagging and hear Daisy groan with pleasure to feel familiar hands on her body parts: and it will be good to be home for the US Christmas 😀 !
It will be very good to get back home.. I am ready now i think.. c
How beautiful! Love your comparison of feeling like a rubber band. It’s just like that. This line is also perfect ” I am not sure if I want to cry, fall into a great sleep, run up the empty beach laughing into the rising blue wind, or just raise my arms and float up into the hills.”
Soak it all in. The weather may be cold at home, but the warmth is waiting for you there, too!
Wishing safe journey, calm heart, and joy with it all.
The time is going by so fast. I agree with the above comment, just do it all!
We did indeed get a dusting of snow. Not sure how much came in further south. Definitely soak up the sun because the cold is here too. Burrr! Enjoy your last days of travel C! I can just imagine the tug of different emotions. Your pictures are amazing and it sounds like your adventure has been a memorable one. See you back on the farmy. Safe travels and Merry Christmas!
